davieG Posted 10 October 2005 Posted 10 October 2005 Well they are for my Mrs. It's seems like a bad week for injuries what with Cobbo and King Kyle, hope your both feeling better. Well talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time, well it all started when she decide to go out for a quiet walk in Glenfield having spent a few hours on the PC, she happened across some young lads throwing obstacles up into a conker tree trying to dislodge the conkers. Well she saw this object go up and waited but nothing appeared so assuming it had become stuck made her way along the pavement under the tree. Wrong decision, out of the tree came this bloody great piece of half brick and hit her with full force right in the middle of her head. With blood streaming from the wound and feeling somewhat concussed and feint she made her way to a Vets which was fortunately nearby. After some careful nursing and a phone call to me we decided that an ambulance was needed. Wow! Did they arrive quickly and talk about efficient and caring. We ended up in the accident department at the Royal, where after a few hours of medical attention I was allowed to bring her home. With a glued up scalp, bruised head and a bit of aching she’s now feeling a bit better. Thanks go to the Vets on Dominion Road, the Ambulance Crew and the Doctors and Nurses at the Royal. Lesson, well a daily walk is only good for you if you don't walk under conker trees where there is half a house brick waiting to fall on your head.

davieG Posted 11 October 2005 Author Posted 11 October 2005 Thanks for your best wishes everyone, you'll be pleased to know that the headaches have subsided, the bruising is just starting to fade but the glue still feels a bit strange. As for the lads involved one ran off very quickly but the other came over and said he was sorry and showed a lot of concern, certainly Mrs G holds no grudge against them, although what they did was a little reckless there was no intent involved. We would both like to think the shock will prevent them from doing something similar or worse in the future.
