davieG Posted 21 October 2017 Share Posted 21 October 2017 http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/whats-on/music-nightlife/brand-new-major-music-festival-658541 It's great news for music fans, as a brand new major music festival is coming to Leicestershire next summer. TexFest will land at Market Harborough Showground, welcoming a host of chart-topping acts in the picturesque setting of the Leicestershire countryside. The three day event is set to take place between 29 June and 1 July 2018. The first acts for the festival have already been announced - including the headlining electronic duo Example & DJ Wire. Best known for his UK number one singles Changed The Way You Kissed Me and Stay Awake, Example will be joined by DJ Wire to get the crowd in the party mood. Well known for their fantastic festival performances, festivalgoers can be certain of an incredible stage show and atmosphere. TexFest also hopes to provide a welcoming atmosphere for families local to the event, and organisers have programmed a range of entertainment during the day. Leading up the children's entertainment will be Reggie n Bollie, who shot to fame after finishing as runners-up in The X Factor 2015. Their energetic performances of songs including Cheerleader and Boom Boom Boom won them an army of fans, and they’re now signed to Simon Cowell’s Syco Festivalgoers can also make the most of the weekend with on-site camping, or pop up hotel glamping for those who want something more than a tent. Festival Director, Shaun French, commented, “We’re delighted to announce Example & DJ Wire as our first act on the bill and we’ve got some other really exciting artists to announce soon, which we’re sure will keep a lot of people very happy! “To put on an event like this in Market Harborough will be fantastic for the local area next summer and we’re really excited about what’s to come!” TexFest is coming to Market Harborough Showground (Image: TexFest) For local and regional acts that would like to get up there on stage at the festival, the organisers will soon be announcing their application and audition procedure. Shaun French added, “It’s really important to us to involve the local music scene in the event. We want to be able to give some of our best local bands the opportunity to play alongside big names and we’ll be announcing more details on that very soon.” Early Bird tickets for TexFest are now on sale at £90 for the weekend. Family, camping, glamping and VIP options are also available. The Fox Covert Posted 21 October 2017 Share Posted 21 October 2017 11 hours and not a dicky bird? I know the first thoughts of everyone here are who is going to be the next manager, but... I am giving this one a serious thought with no Glastonbury next year and this will be on the weekend after the normal Glastonbury fixture.
