SheppyFox Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Just wondering, if you all had the chance to decide our formation and lineups from January onwards, ofcourse assuming Silva was fit and we don’t sell Mahrez, what would your team be? (In an ideal world and we’re blessed with no injuries) Mine would be something along these lines, as I’d love to see Iborra in a midfield 3 and I think Mahrez could be very effective in a free role behind the front two. 4-3-1-2 Kasper Chilwell Morgan Maguire Simpson Ndidi Silva Iborra Mahrez Vardy Iheanacho
HighPeakFox Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Looking at our squad, all I can say is that our management has some very nice problems when selecting - with Iborra settling in, Amartey emerging and (hopefully) Silva lining, as well as Dragovic showing well too, we appear to have some depth at last.
halibut Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Considering the build-up to the World Cup, players representing their NTs have busy schedules, with the pre-WC friendlies being pretty serious affairs. Injuries are inevitable, and occasions will rise where team selection may be a simpler question of who's available and fit.

I'd field the exact same players as the Swansea match against a PL side, the same players as the Leeds match against a team from a lesser league. The 4-4-1-1 at Swansea was played differently from previous matches and was effective; and as our current problem in the league is that we leak goals despite scoring many (8th in goals scored, 11-13th in goal difference, 14th in standings), I'm not so confident that we can get away with a highly attacking lineup like the Leeds match against a PL side. The Cup games are rarely broadcast where I live, so I mention this not having watched the Leeds match.
