Actually Splatoon is a WiiU game so maybe that will do, if you don't want to splash out a few hundred on the Switch.

SquarEnix have just re-released Romancing SaGa 2 for XBOX One, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PSVita. Also available on Steam.

It's a great old-school RPG with tons of hours of gameplay that will keep a ten-year old hooked for weeks, if not months.
