No but it’ll hit you in the face most Saturdays until you die.

I know Col, apparently we are imagining it all and know nothing about last years season which was full of fast flowing attacking football and bundles of chances. And don't get me started on round pegs in square holes. I'm really hopeful for the season if Puel can play his brand of football with the right personnel in their best positions but I can't be arsed to argue all day with the notion that the football we played bore fruit.

Exactly. I’d just like some honesty on here really. Under Puel we’ve played quite well at times but let’s have it right...there were times last season we were utterly awful in terms of no-one looking to have a clue where they were meant to be playing.

Having signed a proper right wing-back should help this problem though.

This season we need to see some tactical clarity.

I know that you and Swan are busy confirming each others' opinions, but nobody has bothered to go back to those 3 matches I cited (Swansea, Stoke and Bournemouth) and looked at the cold hard facts of what actuallly happened at those games. There were goodness knows how many attempts on goal, and I recall the first half against Swansea being absolutely fantastic - it was a wonder that the lead was only one goal.

I maintain that although it wasn't absolutely wonderful, and at times the football lacked confidence and pace, chances were still created, and had those 3 matches finished 2-1 (as they all could easily have done) the season, and this conversation, would have turned out somewhat differently.

Small margins, I hear you cry - yes. What iffery, I hear you cry - correct, guilty. However, home draws against opposition most of us would hope and expect our boys to roll over do lead to hyper-critical perceptions, and allow a lot of wiseacreing after the fact. It wasn't great, I agree - but it wasn't as bad as the results allow certain people to maintain.

I agree, we've shown glimpses of looking like an attractive attacking team. Too often though we either didn't know how to open teams up when we've had possession, or we've been poor at finishing the chances we created. It's up to Puel now to put the pieces together, and get this team to play as a cohesive unit on both ends of the pitch.
