Pay per play

Watching Portsmouth earlier, and the commentator mention Ricardo Fuller is being paid by how often he plays as he's always injured, and it made me think, why Micky Adams hasnt made an effort to introduce this here to some of our players? Ok, some players may get put off by it but that says something dont it? It shows they aint confident about being fit and playing a lot of games so why should we sign them?

Likes of Morris, Blake, Gillespie, Gemmil, Hignett, etc, should of been offered these sorts of contracts.. and if they didnt like it then they know where to go! Cause who else would of had them except teams like Darlington?

He played, thats the point behind it, i like that idea well done Harry for doing a good bit of business. Fuller scored

This seems a good idea to be offered to the players that dont get into the team ie Gillespie and Blake. Would save us alot of money really.

Ohh and Petrescu, we dont have Hignett nomore ;)

I know but Micky should of thought things through more before signing division 3 shite. Pay per play is the way to go for some players, the ones listed ;)

I'm not really having a go at him, I just think that it's the ideal way for him to be paid, if he's gonna keep being injured like this.

If he comes back and scores a bajillion goals for us, then yunno, I'll eat my words.

It would probably be a good idea until people who realise they will never start again, and only play occaisonally as sub, start leaving. Eventually you will have a small squad and a rubbish bench.

I suspect they get paid if they are available for selection and not injured, therefore the likes of Blake would be paid, but Morris wouldn't.

This wouldn't work if it applied to everone as it would accelerate the arrival of footy as a non-contact sport, who would want to risk injury if they wern't going to be paid and wha a namby pamby game it would become..

I saw him play against East Bengal in the friendly, he wasn't very impressive, didn't look like scoring. He's too small and weak to challenge defenders.

Good point.

Football is soft enough as it is. Although it seems a good idea on the face of it, players will not want to risk not getting paid if on that type of contract.

I understood that it was Fuller's doing. Pompey pulled out of the deal and he was so desperate to prove himself in the premiership that he suggested the deal.

Rest assured he'll still be earning if he isn't fit. Just not as much.

How would poor old Lee Morris earn money if he had a pay per play contract. Not his fault is it? can't see him gettin much money from advertising or anything can you? except if he was the new face of 'operation' the board game :)

We should of deffinelty done a deal like that with Morris !

If we did that, he would have gone to Sheffield United, and Micky wouldn't have like that.  :rolleyes:;)
