Post Brexit Shopping at LCFC Club Shop on the Internet.......

Short up-date for any Foxiles.  The Lady/Young Woman (Lorren) working within e-commerce at the Club was extremely helpful and competent - indeed she is a true credit to the Club!

I have now been refunded the UK VAT charged by the Club.   I think they will amend the on-line Shop pricing to do this for all overseas customers going forward.

The customs clearance charge extorted out of me by DHL is obviously not within the Club's control and will apply to all shipments sent overseas.

Ouch!    I guess I should have looked this up on the forum before my purchases. :(

I ordered  goods from the shop totaling 79 GBP, and then charged 15.95 P&P to Luxembourg which is bad enough.

Today DHL are requesting an additional EUR 32.69. in your import duty/taxes.

I will also contact the club re VAT as they certainly haven't amended any pricing to the EU.

It's true they mention there might be some import duty/taxes. charges. But 32.69, is 41% of the value of the goods (which already include uk VAT)

I think the club should show examples like ours to illustrate the amount tax that could be charged on arrival.

The Club should refund you the UK VAT-  after all King Power are the Kings of Duty Free and know how it all works🤔.  The 32.69 is partly the local VAT charge (So you have paid two lots of VAT) and the balance is DRF - DHL Rip-off Fee.  If the Club wants to preserve selling to European Fans, they really need to sort this out and tell DHL stop this practice or they will find a Courier that does not fleece our Fans.  UK VAT is easy to resolve.

This will cost the Club money as it stands, as I will never shop with the Club again and look to buy Club Merchandise in the Local Chinese Market when next working in Malaysia -  Adidas Replica shirts from the same factories (not copies) costing 10 Euros.

This is a combination of Brexit, the lack of commercial thinking by the Club, incorrect VAT charging and DHL taking the piss with our Club seemingly doing nothing about it.

Thanks for the info.

I have emailed the club with the details. I'll let everyone know what the out come is. But like you...that's the last time I'll buy online from the club.

That's appalling but surely can't be only affecting LCFC? Surprised we haven't had this exposed by some other clubs that ship far more to EU states than we do.

I believe it is killing a lot of businesses in the UK that previously exported to Europe.

Good luck and I am hopeful you will be refunded the UK VAT.   DHL are just pirates - avoid using them - I did question the fee with DHL in Austria reminding them that the Customs form is completed by DHL in the UK.  But it was like talking to Jurgen Klopp - the employee gave a bull-shit and non-sensical answer.

Just an update.

Result:)  I contacted [email protected]as requested on the shop website.

Customs & Duty

For orders shipping to the EU after January 1st, additional import charges/taxes may need to be paid by you upon delivery. If you are contacted by a courier and are asked to pay import duties within the EU, please contact [email protected].

https://shop.lcfc.com/delivery/

Lorren replied and asked me to pay the DHL import duties, and said they would refund it to me when I passed on the receipt to them. Which I did and the refund arrived as promised..

Thanks Lorren and LCFC :appl:

Great News!   Lorren is indeed a credit to the Club. Super efficient.  Such a shame the Club are going to suffer in terms of European Sales due to Brexit.   They need to sort out those Pirates at DHL though.
