Hughes Back In The Groove

I think Weso might be too good to leave out when he plays, especially with the majority of the other midfielders at this club are crap!

That's a VERY bold statement to make about someone who has yet to make a competitive first team appearance.

The most that can be said at this stage is that his recovery will give the manager another option and increase the competition in midfield.

I don't think it's helpful to hype him or any other youngster up as the answer to our current woes.

Not really, i've been watching him for 3 years now and i've seen in in more than 30 games at youth and reserve level and I know how good he is and will become. I'm not hyping him up and as Levein has said Wesolowski's mental strength and determination is what singles him out from other youngsters and people saying he might be too good to leave out won't effect him trust me.

There's been no complications with his operation so i'm under the impression he'll come back as strong as ever and i'm quietly confident he'll be in the reckoning for a first team place in a few months.

Williams, Kisnorbo and Hamill are crap the majority of the time. Gudjonsson and Sylla are inconsistent although Joey has been alot better this season. So all in all most of our midfielders are crap.

I disagree. Joey is good, Hughes is good, Kisnorbo is good, Williams can be good but is inconsistent same as Sylla. Hamil isn't too bad either. I don't think we are too bad in midfield.

It's good to hear that Hughes will be back for us, personaly i think he should be Played with Joey in the middle becasue he has been our most consistent player this season and the team should be picked on form. Gazza Wiliams shouldn't be playing because he really doesn't seem to care at the minute and is satisfied with a no score home draw and that just is not good enough. Although he does work hard Kisnorbo gives the ball away a lot in some dangerous areas which could lead to a goal and we cant afford this especially with our defence quite high on confidence at the minute because if they let a goal in there confidence will be rocked a little. But hey guys, just my opinion.

Again, you're being very brave in predicting how things may turn out in the next two years.

Many teenage players look like worldbeaters at 16 or 17 but then for various reasons fail to develop at the rate expected.

I'd love to think Weso will become the miidfield general capable of helping us return to the Premiership, but right now I have to say it's a very long way from being an automatic certainty.

I note the manager's judgement of him, but wouldn't regard it as infallible, especially when it's been questioned by many people, yourself included, on a range of other topics (eg signings).

If he breaks through into the first team this season, than fine.

But we shouldn't overburden him (or Sterman or Chambers for that matter) with too many expectations too soon.

You are right and i'll hold my hands up if Wesolowski doesn't match my expectations, but when you watch someone for a few years progress like Wesolowski then it's only natural to think and believe they are destined for a successful career in football. I wasn't surprised by his performances in pre-season, i've known how good he is for a few years but it seemed Levein had either not realised how good he was or was keeping him under wraps to fend off the vultures. I'd be very surprised if Wesolowski let a poxy broken leg get in the way of his undoubted talent.

I know but the league take a grim view of players starting the game with splints
