I thought that the change to how we set up from goal kicks and playing out from the back really helped us today. Playing it long more often took the pressure off Schmeichel’s passing and allowed us to win the ball back in their half. Our pressing from their goal kicks too was much more organised and let us win the ball back in their half too, which led to the penalty. Hope this approach continues, thoughts?

I agree to an extent but it will be interesting to see if we can do it against better opposition. Newcastle rely did look like a championship side today. Taking nothing away from the win because its nice to end a Sunday feeling positive but just pointing out that we've had false dawns before with teams that didn't really press us

I don't see this being a permanent change. Not being pessimistic but that Newcastle side are bang average and we just needed to avoid giving them an easy goal to win. We won't be able to compete with the better teams going long as we don't win many headers or have the players to hold it up.
