you can use lamb of course. Which IS more tasty but it’s usually more expensive and  as this was the saving money thread..

I've never really bothered to find out how much things cost to run before now, but as I'm now on the standard tariff (bad timing on my part, fixed rate deal ended Feb), I'm rapidly expanding my understanding of what guzzles the energy the most.   Showers!  As the mother of a young man who would have two showers a day, totalling AT LEAST 30 minutes, frankly I'm glad he doesn't live at home any more.

9.5kw shower - 10 mins a day =£161 pa

30 mins a day = £480 pa

£40 a month just for his showers!!

I took out multi-car insurance for the first time this year (Admiral) and it certainly saved me money. The guy asked me about house insurance too so I threw it in for fun, not expecting much, and that came to about 50% of the price of comparison websites. You don't have to end anything early, they just gave me a total price and then each time a policy lapsed with the old provider it would just start with Admiral and you pay pro rata for that policy to get it all in sync.

I saved hundreds all in. Definitely worth checking out if you have a few things to insure each year
