  1. Spot on Jimmy. Chin up and good luck.
  2. Just to clarify what I said above. Obviously in all betting scenarios the winners win funds generated by the losers. But FI was cleaverly marketed as akin to a stock market investment. Most investors (betters) were watching their investment(bets) increasing in value and taking dividends ( sweetners)on top. It seems alot thought as long as they managed their 'portfolio' correctly they couldn't lose.
  3. From a BBC article: 'Some critics argue Football Index was akin to a Ponzi scheme. "To pay out dividends, it required more customers to deposit money. When that dried up, the problems started", said Matt Zarb-Cousin, of the Campaign for Fairer Gambling and a former gambling addict. "Football Index is an unsustainable business model. They created a stock market out of assets they themselves created. The football players on the market had no underlying value," he said.' A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investing scam which generates returns for earlier investors with money ta
  4. We scored in 90th minute. Watford equalised in 93rd minute Yesterday Villa scored in 86th and Newcastle in 94th
  5. I was actually responding to your other comment as follows Once again, I'm not defending blokes saying these things, but it is absolutely not harassment. I wondered if knowing the circumstances and the reasoning behind the use of this quote on the pavement you may have reconsidered your opinion, as I feel it was harrassment. You clearly don't and you are entitled to your opinion. We will have to disagree on that point. I was giving the context so that other readers of this post would be aware of the full facts. I completely agree with you tha
  6. This 'cat call' was made in the street by a man to a 15 year old girl who was alone. Does knowing that change your opinion of it? I'm sure most of us who are parents would not want that to happen to our daughter. Just saying.
  7. I've been very aware of the lack of posts from other female users of FT. Years of not being able to talk about this, let alone be listened to, takes its toll.
  8. I take it this is Costco Thurnaston. Do you know how much they are selling for ? Thanks
  9. Thing is it isn't just walking alone at night. Most women would think twice about that, or never dare do it. Last September, about 5pm in Sainsburys car park on Melton Road, it was quite busy and I was pushing my trolley to my car. Walked past a white van parked with two men sitting in it. As I passed they started banging on the windscreen and shouted obscene remarks inviting me to join them in the back of their van for a 'good seeing to'. I was so shocked I threw the shopping into my car as quick as I could and drove off, hands shaking, part through fear and part anger.
  10. We all hope to God that Ricardo can quickly regain the outstanding form he showed prior to his injury. However if he does, its inevitable that it will attract huge interest from the 'big' clubs in this country and Europe. At 27 you could understand Ricardo wanting a big club, big money move in the next year or two. In the past we the fans have been desperate to hang on to these star players, but due to the outstanding recruitment strategy of our club we can see that there are already players within our squad who can step up. Look at how many injuries to first team regulars we currently have
  11. Wow, now thats more like it. Youri is certainly very ... er... photogenic !!
  12. Is it just me or did Wilf's passing improved markedly for a while last saason. I remember being impressed (and a bit surprised) at the time, and thinking that he must have been working on this aspect of his game. We're only two games in and playing as a CB can't have helped, but his passing is once again pretty dire. Hopefully once he's back in his familiar position and injury free he can work on improving his passing again. I hope so, cos I love Wilf and his spider legs.
  13. Whilst we are on the subject of Turkish wonders I'd love it if we could use the old Ben Marshall chant again. How about substituting 'Ben Marshall' with 'Soyuncu' Somehow the chant seems to fit him. He's more Gladiator than Lord Farquaad
  14. We could just use his name... He's our Turkish wonder He is Cengiz Ünder Love this chant already, just hope our fans can manage all the Wo-ohs 😀
  15. Ever since I watched the 'call me Jengo' clip I've had the old Go Go Gadget tune in my head from the cartoon Inspector Gadget. Came up with this.... Tearing up the wing its go go Jengo At the back is Soyuncu Wrap them up in chocolate go go Jengo A delight in Leicester blue I'll keep taking the tablets!
  16. Whilst i agree that footballers should not be made scapegoats, i think Rooney's comments regarding Hancock are unfair. Hancock was responding to a specific question from a journalist during one of the daily updates. What was he going to say? If he had made any hint that he didn't think they should take a pay cut, or tried to avoid the issue, it would have been headline news next day. Footballers are in this strange situation where their income is common knowledge. How many other top earners have their income discussed so openly? They are well known figures who are easy targets for the
  17. Matty was my favourite player from that time. I'm sure I remember a couple of games when MON made him play as a centre forward because there was literally no-one else fit who could, we had such a small squad at that time. I think most of us fans expected the worst, but unless my memory is playing tricks, I'm sure he scored two goals away at Everton to get us a point. Legend!
  18. Come off it Milo. The payment of dividends is a well documented tax avoidance method. You seem to have omited to mention that as a basic rate tax payer (given the £700 per month figure you quoted) the tax rate you pay on the dividends is 7.5% rather than the full rate of 20% on income UK to £50k. Chickens coming home to roost mate.
  19. View the BBC News online site report of the statement made. Towards the bottom of the item it says.. 'The scheme does not cover people who only became self-employed very recently - the chancellor said they would have to look to the benefits system for support.'
  20. I've just listened to this and would strongly urge everyone to do the same. As Mikey said it truly shocking to listen to this very calm guy talking about his despair that so many people are putting their lives at risk, and as for the impact that the shortage of ventilators will have, well, it reduced me to tears. The message we were repeatedly given, that the majority of people will only suffer mild symptoms, may prove in the long run to be statistcally correct. However I think it has only encouraged many (including me) to believe that it wasn't anything to be that concerned about , unle
  21. The mayor of Bargamo has stated that in his opinion the true figure of infected people in his area is 5-10 times the official figure. Elderly people dying in their homes are not tested. Only people who make it to hospital are tested. March 1 -18 they had 611 deaths when the average for this time of year is 100. Over half of these were never tested.
  22. In 11 matches time , the last game of the season , all PL matches will be played at the same time. To my mind that's an ideal time for the fans of all PL clubs to make their feelings re VAR known. Surely there are enough vociferous fans groups who are fully across social media, who could get something organized at all the matches at the same time . Off the top of my head how about holding up a big red card just before the teams run out if we want to get rid of it altogether? With the appropriate chant of course! If the Premier League gave a toss about what the fans thought about VAR i
  23. I get you, but surely this season it's got to be Vardy. He has never been voted POTS yet he's an absolute legend. Please please let's show him how much he is loved here this season.
  24. I remember it was Princess Anne cos she turned up wearing red and black which was the colours Man City played in that day. I've always had a grudge against her ever since
