I think he is ruthless enough, he sacked Puel barely months after the helictopter crash.

...that would have been very much due to pressure from the players, particularly from Kasper!!!

With Kasper no longer here it is now less pressure for Top to take any immediate action. Rodgers may have been ecstatic when Kasper chose to leave, because of the influence he had with Top.

It’s not even just BR, who’s getting the boot for all these stupid contracts that have been handed out?

...true!!!

The extension of Vardy's contract is proof positive that our policy of issuing contracts is no longer a sustainable way to proceed and whoever chose to sanction it, is continuing to follow a failed strategy.

The club needs to take a forensic look at itself, bring in auditors and systems analysis to implement a complete overhaul of our policies and protocols. An objective view in black and white should stimulate the change that is needed.

You can only surmise that policies put in place by Khun Vichai have now ran their course, and being a slave to them, whilst the world and the game has changed is not going to be a prudent, or profitable journey.

Just to clarify my position before I continue. I believe that our owners are wonderful and decent people with strong ethics and that is a very rare quality in modern sport. I couldn’t wish to have better people in charge and I am forever grateful for what they have done and what they continue to do.

That said, my question is this. Do you think that Top is ruthless enough? I’m thinking for example in terms of knowing when to call time on Brendan’s reign and that of his staff.

Vichai was a very experienced businessman and  would clearly act quickly and decisively when he needed to. Before the tragic accident, I imagine that the plan would have been for Top to gradually take on more and more responsibility, with Vichai being there to mentor and guide him. My worry is that because Top now has so much responsibility on his shoulders, could this potentially hinder the decision making process at the club?

Absolutely, best thing the guy could do imo is hire a CEO who knows how to run a business and has experience in football, its absolutely evident the club has not been run well since Vichai died and I am worried there are people taking advantage of the lack of experience and discipline

It’s not about being ruthless it’s about knowing when the time is right. Pearson survived after that horrendous second half of the season in the championship that saw us throw away promotion when many were screaming for him to go. Vichai and Top decided it was best to stick with him and we then romped to the championship title. On the other hand however Ranieri was quickly removed. I think a lot depends on the mood around the squad, if they feel the manager is still getting something from them and they are still playing for him then he will get more time.

with Ranieri, it wasn't just the players but the coaching staff that were at odds with the manager, think that would have made the decision for them fairly easily.
