Auto embedded links

How come if I post a link from my iPhone or MBP it will auto embed, but if I do it from my iPad it doesn’t?

Have you tried the same link on all devices to know it’s definitely the iPad not doing it?

Good point. No. But no YouTube links auto embed on the iPad.

I sometimes have to put a carriage return after the URL when linking to external sites for it be embed here.  Does seem to be random at times, but this is similar to sharing links on WhatsApp and other tools.

Yep, I do that too. Who knows? It's not important, it just vexed me there was or still is an anomaly in my happy Apple environment.
