It's taken at least 8 years for my older daughter to get any decent support in the community. She now has a certain level of support from the community teams but it's hit and miss. 

 

Often she is expecting a visit from a support worker only to find out (or not) that they cant attend due to sickness, poor staffing levels, or any other excuse that comes up.

 

It's poor. People with MH in the community, like my daughter, depend on routine and reliability. Otherwise they're likely to fall back and then the crisis kicks in and they struggle and may well end up back in a psych ward.
