We have traditionally parked in the Newarke Street car park. But this a 1 mile walk (perfectly fine for me) but my 78 year old Dad is increasingly struggling with his mobility - and this often turns into a 45-60 minute walk before and after the game.

So I'm trying to figure out places to park for matchday that are much closer.

The Morrisons on Freeman's Common Road - Is that even accessible on matchdays? Or is it rammed?

Any other ideas?

I drop people by the end of Filbert Way then park at areas opposite the infirmary. You do need to be there at least an hour before kick off. After game I reverse the process.

If only there was a footbridge over the canal and river.

And what are the useful car parks on that side then? Why not just try and answer the question and help a fellow fox out rather than some snarky comment?

It wasn't snarky.

The places you can park over there require a long walk down to Upperton Road.

It's long been said that footbridges near the railway bridge would make access to the stadium much easier, so you could access the stadium from the south end, but seems no one is interested in building them.

So I didn't mention these places, which I've used cos I'm relatively healthy and don't mind a walk, since you wanted somewhere closer for your dad.

Would Freeman's Common be too far?

Apologies for completely misinterpreting your comment and assuming the worst!

I thought you were saying 'park on the other side of the river and use the existing bridges, dummy'

Can you still use the club’s car parks nearby the ground? Tried to look just now but couldn’t find it on the website.

You can use the official/club car parks - but it's £19 and website says it closes 1 hour before kickoff and only opens 1 hour after full time. So it's not very convenient!

I'm going to try the Uni Freeman's Common car park next time for sure - only a 15 min walk

Pretty sure you can book Morrisons car park with YourParkingSpace app.

I did it a season or two ago for one match. Was about 7 quid.

Edit: Just checked it is the Just Park app. Checked for the Birmingham match, see below.
