Scowcroft

Lets face it, if Scowcroft was renamed Tommy Wright and had 10 years knocked off of his age, he'd be good enough for england by now

Not at all, but at the end of the day what's wrong with encouraging the youngsters to be given a chance. Why shouldn't they be? At the end of the day Scowcroft has had 8 or 9 years to prove himself in professional football and hasn't, so people who stick up for him are just as bad.

If he hasn't proved himself in professional football how come so many Premier Teams, admittedly not the best ones are interested in him. Are all these managers wrong?

They might play him in his actual proper position where he is an average player. Nee oil painting though

Scowcroft would have got at least 10 goals last season if he was played in his proper position. He still managed to get 5 from the right/left wing.

didn't he get about 12 goals from the wing the season before in div one?

So he's an average player who hasn't proved himself in professional football, how big do you what to make that hole you are digging for yourself.

Haha, hole?

I'm not digging at all, in my opinion Scowcroft is nothing special. He is definately not a £3 million pound player, he has aspired in to nothing really. In 10-15 years will anyone remember James Scowcroft? The answer to that is 'no' he is no better than players like Richard Cresswell and Danny Cadamarteri, players who were touted as being something special and then just failing to ever produce the goods in the top league. He's alright, he'll do a job but he's had 8 or 9 years in football and he's not impressed me. He has his critics and he has his fans, as a striker he'll never let you down, but as a winger there's no point in him.

But he's not playing as a winger though. It's more of a wide right position which entails getting in to the box and making a third striker when attacking.

Not doing much good is it? Didnt last season and he's hardly sparkled this season so sort out a proper winger FFS, play with 2 strikers like most normal teams do, and push Williams up there when we go forward instead of that flaming lovechild.

Games against West Ham and Derby, he was one of our better players - He's doing a sound job wide right, much more effective than bloody Keith Gillespie. I would personally prefer Canero right wing when he's fit, with Makin right back, but I doubt that will happen.

Only the Dublin bit. Williams should come good under new management.
