Scowcroft

I would have Canero right wing, and Makin right back, but that's not going to happen. We have to accept that Scowcroft will play right wing this season. He's not a right winger, we all know that - However, he will get us goals and create chances. He will be useful from set pieces, both defending and attacking. I can't believe some of the abuse he get's on this forum. Ok, he was crap last season, but he always put the effort it, he's very professinal, disciplined, and he's remained loyal to us so far, unlike other's. So get behind him instead of slagging him off.

He hasn't had the chance go, but i agree with some points you made. But i still think canero would be a better option.

But the point is, he has never expressed an interest to leave. He's always remained professinal and committed to the club.

Yea I know i recommended that team. Because I think that will be better. I wasn't arguing that canero werent as good as scowy. I was saying Gillespie aint as good as scowy. And when i said about canero at right back thats because i think Micky him there because thats where he signed him to play.

My recommended team is what i would like to see! Not what micky will play.

Ok, he was crap last season,

Thats my point exactly, cash in on him because he's out of contract at the end of the season. Seems to me that 500k now is better than nothing later.

The argument was Scowcroft Or Gillespie filbertway so why you trying to make out True_Blue didnt want him in the team and shit.

Think about it before posting.

MMMMMMMMmmm i suppose i wont be getting that avatar now. Good point. I only said that he didn't think scowcroft should be in that team.

Scowcroft should be in the team Mickey likes having the option of Stewart on the left crossing the ball in and Scowcroft coming in at the back, which I am sure we will see a lot more of this season. Scowcroft also gives us options in both attacking and defensive set pieces.

Yes i agree :D. He is useful for coming in at the back and for set peices. I was just saying that gillespie would give us more width, but on reflection i suppose scowcroft has been tracking back during pre season so he prob would get the nod. Even though a would prefer to see canero given a good chance this season. Scowcroft has had 2 seasons and hasn't really done it for me.

But we're in the Championship now, which is his level. Micky obviously see's Scowcroft as an important cog in the team to challenge for promotion, as he's capable of netting a few at this level.

Yer but what is he going to do if he has a great season

Micky will keep him and play him next year if we go up

Yeh but at the end of the season he goes on a free. Connolly, stewart, dublin, canero, williams and gudjonnson could net us a few during the season.

I suppose you just convince us lol, scowcroft will have to now, and i bet goes and does it, so i will stop debating in this thread incase i upset more people :D

Who knows? I don't think he would, unless he was prepared to accept a substantially reduced contract.

Scowcroft at the minute is playing a key role for us. He is the only player that flicks balls on to the strikers which gets us goals. He also has great passing skills and great strength. People can call him shit but yes he can be abit doesy but overall he is a key member. I wouldnt like to see him leave at the moment.

Scowcroft, your doing a good job son, keep it up!

Lets face it, if Scowcroft was renamed Tommy Wright and had 10 years knocked off of his age, he'd be good enough for england by now

Not at all, but at the end of the day what's wrong with encouraging the youngsters to be given a chance. Why shouldn't they be? At the end of the day Scowcroft has had 8 or 9 years to prove himself in professional football and hasn't, so people who stick up for him are just as bad.
