No what hes saying was, some fans are saying bring SOME youth players in like for instance petrescu you say play tommy play stearman scowy says play dawson, and all this but birch thinks thats not the right thing to do to throw ppl like stearman and dawson into the team in a situation like this at the moment!

which i agree to be honest, you shouldplay talented youngsters but i dont think stearman is ready yet when we have players like, elliot, dabizas, keown, heath and up front we have connolly, benjamin, scowcroft etc which in my view are a better option to play than wright at the moment.

Thats not a team full of youngsters then is it? Its called blooding young players into the team. I think alot of people have forgotten how this works.

I know excatly what you mean Petrescu, some people forget when and what age Rooney & Owen and that are bought into the team, some players are brought in and fail at this level but its worth the try, things cant get any worse surely?

belive it or not im actually a believer in bringing youth through, but i think at a time like this where we are in demand of performances and results dont bring youth in to the first team yet, bring them in when the pressures off the players as such, i think stearmans maybe a bit too young to be in first team but reserves and loaning out would do him good, i think tommy is ready for the first team now but we'll see what happens.

Are we or we are not always in demand of performances. Same last season, cant bring youth through cause we fighting relegation. Season before, cant bring youth through cause we're trying to gain promotion, despite being 10 points clear. Cant win, so why do you suggest? Never?

i thought it was a good time to bring them in last division 1 season when we was cruising and mix it up but we didnt, i think we should bring some through but after few games because noiw with micky leaving and a fresh start fans will be hoping for a lot and if we can start off with a few good performances then bring them up, and anyway i cant see how dawson will get to play much seeing as we have williams, gudjonson nalis gemmil who are all rated higher.

Shows how bad a judgement some people can have then. He has performed admirably for the reserves this season and youth team last season giving 100% every game, we havent rewarded him, thankfully Ireland have with his Under 21 call up.

We shouldnt be leaving him out because we have other midfielders with better reputionations. Who cares? Dawson with Williams/Joey/Nalis in the middle please. Its worth a go at least because no one in midfield at the moment have proved anything to anyone that they should be ahead of him.

That's bollocks really. This is a perfect time to bring say 2 or 3 youngsters in to the first team frame and i'll tell you why. Youngsters have no respect for anyone and are so eager to get out there and play, also the opposition know nothing about them. We aren't talking about some little schoolboys, we are talking about Richard Stearman who is regarded as one of the countries brightest prospects and also Stephen Dawson who at 18/19 is already in the Ireland Under 21 squad and has been phenomenal for the reserves this season. When our current bunch of players are showing no signs of passion, talent or commitment then why shouldn't some younger players be given a chance who are full of confidence and are on form?! Answer me that and also it's all well and good saying it's best to bring youngsters in when your doing well, but I can guarantee that no manager would bring a untested youngster in to the team ahead of one of the players that are respinsible for the team doing well in the first place.

It's all shit, just get a few of them in there. They are our future, there is a distinct possibility that these lads might stop at the club longer than a season like the other fools we've signed.

Reasons for not giving young players a chance.

We are going for promotion - We need experience to take us up

We are fighting relegation - We need experience to stop us going down

We are on a winning run - These players (experienced ones) have earn't the right to carry on

We are on a losing streak - You can't put youngster in when the team is playing badly it will affect their confidence.

So when the Bloody hell can they play - these are all excuses from weak management.

IMO opinion they should have been given the chance against PNE in the cup. I think that for the next couple of games we just might see a few players trying harder and playing better so don't mix it up too much.

I haven't seen either Stearman or Dawson but I just hope that when they are given their chance that they show more promise than Tommy Wright has.

Haha we always need something to moan about! Trust me Dawson and Stearman are both fantastic prospects and they will go all the way to the top if given the chance, I also think Wright has the potential but perhaps not with us.

Iv heard it said before about Rooney and i know our youth squad hasnt threw up anyone as good as him but if your good enough your old enough. I saw that Dawson got a call up to Ireland under 21's i dont know much about the lad or where he plays but surely he cant be no mug. lets start bleeding these young talents through, while players like elliott keown and dublin are there and still playing so that the youngsters can learn from them......
