(He's not really been sucessful over a long period has he?) I can see the argument that he'll have passion for the club but is this really true!!?? I really can't think of many managers who have done well for their old club. But there are loads of examples of the opposite happening. Ex-players who haven't: Glen Hoddle, Graham Souness, Brian Little, Franny Lee... Non -ex who have: Alex Fergie, Wenger, Jose Mourino, Matrin O'Neill, Brian Clough... I'm sure there are loads more of each but not that many of Ex-players who have been sucessful... Just a thought...

There does seem to be an obsession about bringing someone in who knows the club well. More important is bringing someone in who has a good knowledge of the English game. Levein didn't struggle due to never having played for Leicester, he struggled because he'd never managed in England or played here either imo.

He's got top level experience, is an ex-attacker and seems to encourage an exciting style of play. There aren't many like him really, as names like Cotterill, Holloway and others only go to emphasise.

Besides if you want to know the answer you need to ask Disillusioned as he's seems very keen on the idea of Walsh being our Manager.

Although people have questioned whether Cotterill or Holloway would use the same tactics with (although the table doesnt show it) batter players, i dont think they would. In any case, i dont want to find out by taking the risk. It has to be Newell or Davies IMO.
