Tommy Posted 6 February 2006 Posted 6 February 2006 Has anybody seen this film about Johnny Cash, starring Reese Whitherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix, I was going to go to the cinema to watch it, but I've not heard any reviews on it from anyone I know, so can anyone reccomend it to me or on the other reccomend me to stay away from it.
The People's Hero Posted 6 February 2006 Posted 6 February 2006 Should be 'reviewing' it soon. Have recently seen Munich, Memoirs of a Geisha and Derailed. Apart from Clive Owen.. who is a legend, all lacked anything special and were distinctly mediocre. I'm quite looking forwards to seeing Walk The Line though...
Knighton Matt Posted 26 June 2006 Posted 26 June 2006 So any opinions on this is it any good? May get it out on DVD.

Knighton Matt Posted 26 June 2006 Posted 26 June 2006 Nice bumping KM. I was thinking a DVD would be good after the footie on Saturday.... this may be the my film of choice. Why thank you! I'd be intrigued to hear anyone's opinions on the film and knew someone somewhere must have started a thread on it!
Jay Posted 27 June 2006 Posted 27 June 2006 it's a great film!! I am usually one for following the golden rule... if a film has won oscars then it's usually a big pile of sh it!! but Walk the Line was a top class film imo
Rincewind Posted 27 June 2006 Posted 27 June 2006 Depends if you are a fan of his music. I used to a few years ago but but that was when Jim Reeves and Englebert were alternatives in that musical genre. Not a big Country/Western fan but I never really thought of Johnny Cash as C/W. But saying that I thought the film about Patsy Kline was quite good. (Anybody heard of her?) I'll wait for the Johnny Cash film to come on TV.
Janx Posted 27 June 2006 Posted 27 June 2006 quality film, sort of put all the pieces of my "cash puzzle" altogether, like I knew about the prison album and the drugs/drink and the second mrs, but it has inspired me to check out a lot more of his stuff and tis indeed bonzer!
