Guest Gist Posted 20 February 2006 Posted 20 February 2006 Its quite dear I go quite alot and it is something like £30 for half a pitch for about an hour with Lights, I think it depends when you go it is cheaper during the day.

Who do you play for?? I always slip over and get carpet burns down there
SystonFox Posted 20 February 2006 Posted 20 February 2006 theres a decent astroturf in mountsorrel. soar valley leisure centre is the name. 0116 2375267 is the number. open till 10pm. i go on a sunday and its £7.70 for half a pitch with student discount b4 5pm, double that after 5pm and add £7.70 for lights on at any time so at most £22 ish for half a pitch with lights. very good pitch and never fully booked. they will let u on for longer than an hour usually too if it aint booked!

SystonFox Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 Wouldnt fancy running around on that surface every week, do you guys value your knees? i played there once in a game for the college course team (electricians) vs the painters and decorators. in the last minute i went up for a header, fell awkwardly on my ankle on the sand and it swelled up like a bowling ball, couldnt walk all weekend and was off football for a month before i was fully recovered. anyone been to the rushey mead college astroturf? talk about too much sand!!!!
