Teeno Posted 12 March 2006 Share Posted 12 March 2006 Yesterday's game was without a doubt the best away day of the season for me. We set of from Leicester at 11.30 with plenty of booze for the 50 minute train journey. As we got of the train we were forced into the nearest pub by the coppers (not that we minded). It was called George the 2nd, it wasn't long before the singing got going and the place was full of Leicester fans. more beer followed and the atmosphere was cracking, was also nice chating and having a laugh with other City fans. Then at about 2.30 the Police came in and got us all out and escorted us to the ground. That was a great laugh with a good 250/300 Leicester fans there we made ourselves know going throught the shit hole that is Luton. From the pub to the ground there must have been 3 walkers crisps billboards with Gary's pic on which got the "Oh Gary Gary Gary Gary Gary Gary Lineker" going. The escort was good fun and before the game the Leicester fans were in great voice and really up for the game. We reached the ground, allthough you couldn't tell, it was like walking through someones side gate, we walked up the steps to the terrace, and we were surrounded by house and the area just inside the turnstile was other looked by two hoses bathrooms. The ground fitted in well with the town which can only be described as a dive. So The majority of fans that had been in the escort from the pub congregated at the back of the stand near the stand where the dugouts were. Throughout the game the fans were great. There wasn't really any banter to be had, but other than the odd chant aimed at Newell and 'Big Nose' the City fans were brilliant in getting behind the team. The lack of leg room ment a lot of people decided to stand all game. The match wasn't brilliant itself and city played allright in the first half, but generally the second half performance wasn't good enough, but I think it was fair to say the result was fair and O'Grady's goal was well celebrated by the fans. Again we were escorted back to the station after the game and again the fans were in fine voice marching through the town, the day passed without any trouble and good fun was had by all Leicester fans. and we got the train home and headed straight out to celebrate the win. Not a great game but thanks to the people was a smashing day out and one I'll remember for a while.

It seemed there were a few standing at the back at the other end but we couldn't hear much noice coming from them. Was a really good day, don't know how i ended up dancing at the top of stand when O'Grady scored .

Jamesino_LCFC Posted 12 March 2006 Share Posted 12 March 2006 Yer I'm hoping for Cov and Norwich, a win over Norwich being just that little bit more sweet as my cousin goes to Norwich Uni and I think is going to the game, Norwich being the team she supports! (I think anyway).
