The People's Hero Posted 19 April 2006 Posted 19 April 2006 Looked for the old thread for all of about 25 seconds but was nowhere to be (easily) seen and my searching skills are akin to those of all men, ie - quick look round. Nope, not there. It's lost. Someone's moved it. Pah. Anyway, to cut to the chase (which I am naturally predisposed to do) the word of the day is verbatim. It was going to be facsimile and paraphernalia came close but in the end it came down to rumbunctuous (which isn't even a word) and verbatim (which is a word about words), therefore the wordier (which might well be a word) of the two, triumphed.
werestandingup_weresittingdown Posted 19 April 2006 Posted 19 April 2006 you what, you what, you what you what you what????????
The People's Hero Posted 19 April 2006 Author Posted 19 April 2006 Now you've questioned me, you've created some (not insignificant) self doubt.
Nationwider Posted 19 April 2006 Posted 19 April 2006 I wrote "verbatim" in a letter recently. I impressed only myself. Then again, I'm a difficult chap to impress, so it was worth it. Actually, I could have been invisible today at work. Sometimes you just need a day of not speaking to anyone except The Sandwich Lady. She's a rum old thing.

The secretary isn't speaking to me for some reason. Whilst my boss decided just to go home at 11am. Everyone else works upstairs and I only spoke to them to confirm that yes, I did want tea. Had a good conversation with the sandwich lady though. When it comes to talking about sandwiches, there's no one better. It has now become an aim of mine to put the word verbatim in every bit of correspondence I send tomorrow.

Lemon Harpic Posted 22 April 2006 Posted 22 April 2006 I used to have a noun as a pet, but then a verbatim.

The People's Hero Posted 23 April 2006 Author Posted 23 April 2006 Tangible. I'd urge you to overuse it. Out of context.
Guest Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 too easy That's what they say about you, or so I've heard.
The People's Hero Posted 23 April 2006 Author Posted 23 April 2006 Word of the day for tomorrow is flagrant.
C-man Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 I think phallus should be a word of the day in the near future.
The People's Hero Posted 23 April 2006 Author Posted 23 April 2006 Good call. In many ways, it's the word of every day.
The People's Hero Posted 23 April 2006 Author Posted 23 April 2006 you're the willy puller mate Is a phrase which Freund has become accustomed to hearing over the years.
Knighton Matt Posted 24 April 2006 Posted 24 April 2006 you're the willy puller mate good call mate! "what have you ever done on TV?"
Lemon Harpic Posted 24 April 2006 Posted 24 April 2006 nah it was on the office christmas specials Reminds me of the Bee Gees interview on the Clive Anderson show, back in the day. Anderson made a jokey comment that the trio would "always be tossers to me", and later Barry Gibb told the presenter "You're the tosser mate" and walked off in a showbiz strop then his brothers followed him.
freund Posted 24 April 2006 Posted 24 April 2006 good call mate! "what have you ever done on TV?" shagadelic baby
