Muz Posted 30 October 2004 Posted 30 October 2004 Although i am very excited and believe we can do very well undr the careful guidance of CL.You must remeber that the wins might not roll in all at once! All Leicester City fans must take into account that CL has been managing in the SPL all of his career and has not tasted Championship football yet.Although many say that the SPL is very similar to the championship i do not agree.Although they are good and bad teams n evey league there are only 2 good teams in the SPL a few mediocre teams eg.Hearts and Hibs. The rest are not the most talented to say the least! In the Champoinship they are 7 or 8 good teams 10 or so mediocre teams and the rest are poor! It will take CL to get a feel for this league and the way of the English game.So we cannot expect a miracle over night.I still think our objective for this season is to finish as high up as possible obviously. But i would rather us stay down this year,Get rid of players like Dublin , Blake , Wilcox ect.And promote players like Steve Dawson,Tomi Petrescu ect. CL also said that he wants a team of 24-28 year old's with a few experience players in.So be ready for a summer exodus and next year to see a young, youthfull passionate side. At today's match CL was senn leaving his seat before the end of the game.I could just imagine him waiting for the players in the Dressing room. Anyway to wrap it up i am looking forward to an action packed season and a Bright future at the Walkers. CRAIG LEVEIN'S BLUE WHITE ARMY Thanks Muz
Wellman Posted 30 October 2004 Posted 30 October 2004 good post MuzzyMagic, i totally agree with that. We can't be expecting results straight away, but if they do happen stright away I won't be complaining
Mark Posted 30 October 2004 Posted 30 October 2004 I know the wins certainly wont happen soon. All this old bastards are going to stop us making any progress, and until the summer when he can tell them to #### off we aint going to do anything. We'll do well to stay up with the likes of Gillespie, Blake, Gemmill, Dublin, Makin, in our team every week. Just cant see it changing.
Anish Posted 30 October 2004 Posted 30 October 2004 Yep agree with what has been said. I hope the fans are patient and don't become too restless if we don't pick up the wins straight away. I expect an improvement, but I'm sure that will happen with CL's youthful policy. Whether that improvement is in terms of results I'm not sure, but it will be good to see players who actually care about this club and are not simply looking for their final pay day.
Ric Flair Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 I wouldn't be surprised if you don't see Levein wielding his axe within the next few weeks. He won't play Blake, Dublin, Dabizas and Gemmill just for the sake of it. There are still clubs who would take them and I can see him informing their agents to toute them about. He did this fairly early on at Hearts, looking forward to seeing Dublin told to **** off.
Hullfox Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 In all the best westerns, any new sherriff in town always had a hanging as soon as he could to show who was the boss. Think Mr L has more than ample opportunity to do the same. How long do people think he should get to turn it round? What is best, poor football from a team that wins or great football from a team that loses. I'm all for people showing a desire to wear the shirt but if they are not good players (dare I say like Trev) how long will we (ie the supporters as a whole, not individuals be happy for?)
Guest Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 It's going to take time to take this club, and clear the dead wood out, and get the better players, some of which should be playing much better than their performances suggest, to play to the best of their abilities.
