Scow Posted 31 October 2004 Posted 31 October 2004 Just seems to be getting worse with each game. He started off the season extremely well, but then he got suspended/injured and hasn't seemed the same since. Maybe it's the Leicester right back curse?
MON Posted 31 October 2004 Posted 31 October 2004 Canero should play there. As I said in the Right back poll. But we should of kept Sinclair i bet he is on 2,000 pounds a week at most there. So why get Makin instead of Sinclair.
Hoof Fox Posted 31 October 2004 Posted 31 October 2004 It will be interesting to see how all the players react to Craig Levein, I assume some will show vast improvement, whilst some no doubt will be cast aside. Many of the players futures will be decided by the tactics and formation the new manager implements and how well they can adapt. Interesting times.....

I've said for the last few weeks that Makin has been poor - he gives the left winger far too much time, room and space to either cross or shoot. He never seems to block a cross or a shot, and his lack of height is a bit of a problem (though not really his fault he is short!). Plus, he doesn't offer any support when we are attacking, and his crossing is pretty crappy too. I want to see Canero back in the picture - he can't do any worse than Makin.

Mark Posted 31 October 2004 Posted 31 October 2004 I dont think it gives him much confidence when he's got a 15 stone target man playing ahead of him on the right wing

Plus, I forgot to mention Makin's awful throw-ins recently. Obviously I can't comment on yesterday's game but the previous games his throwing in (the most basic of things) has been pathetic.
Ash Posted 31 October 2004 Posted 31 October 2004 Yer i was really impressed with the way Makin started the season , but unfortunetly he's hit a bad patch,But im sure he will hit form again sooner or later
Ric Flair Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 We have got alot of players in our team that are under-performing and when you get a new manager who is known for getting the best out of players then you might well see Levein getting this team sorted with only a few adjustments. If you look at our squad player by player I reckon with a manager like Levein to kick them up the arse we are only 5 or 6 players off where we want to be. Walker - Class Canero - Levein will get the best out of him. Makin - Looked good to start off with, you don't lose it overnight. Good back-up Elliott - Won't be here after this season. Will do for now. Keown - The same Dabizas - Will be shot Heath - Levein might be a good manager, but he's not baby jesus. Get rid. Stearman - Levein will be thankful Stearman has emerged. Stewart - Tricky one, he's looked good recently. It depends how he reacts to Levein as Craig won't be think twice about binning him. Tiatto - Levein will love him. Williams - See no reason why he can't perform in a successful team. Gudjonsson - The same Gemmill - Bye now. Nalis - Will be looking to replace him I reckon as his contract will be up in the summer and he's gettin on abit. Good to fill in though. Dawson - Quality, sky's the limit for him. Gillespie - I can't see Levein being sympathetic towards the gypsy. Wilcox - Bye now. Scowcroft - Play him upfront please. Steady. Connolly - Levein will get him scoring. Bring De Vries to play with him. Dublin - Going Blake - Gone Benjamin - Naah can't see it. Wright - Levein will give him a chance, let's hope he takes it. Morris - ?? Who knows. So we are a fair few players off where we want to be, but there's a nucleus of players that are or will be good enough for Levein to work his magic.
Teeno Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 I think Makin has been doing a good job. He gets foward well and puts in some good croses. His 1 2s with Scowy work well and a lof of chances come from him. I'd rather him be playing than Curtis, Sinclair, Impey etc
Anish Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 I'd rather him be playing than Curtis, Sinclair, Impey etc 32241[/snapback] Well those players can't play cos they ain't here anymore!
