Hi to all you leciester fans and congratulations on your splendid appointment of our (former) manager. I wish you all the very best of luck, i know that in craig you have one of the best young managers in the uk and your board must be applauded for there foresight. First may i say that the attidude from some of the supporters(minority) on this board towards hearts and scottish football in general is extremely ignorant to the point of embarassing. We are certainly no european super power but the crass way the some supporters have dismissed hearts as some 3rd rate poor team in a poor league is laughable and shows there complete ignorance of anything outside there own comfortable little world. Sorry rant over. What i origanally came on to say is that in craig levien you have a very special manager. I have been a hearts supporter all my life and had the privillege of watching craig one of the finest defenders i have ever seen pull on a hearts jersey very much in the alan hansen style of player not a no nonsense boot it out the ground defender, no he was a calm assurred great passer of the ball a total footballer and was days away from leaving hearts to go to either spurs or man utd when he recieved his first serious knee injury. Unfortunately for craig due to further knee injuries he never got that move and to an extent this has driven him as a manager. His commitment is total while playing for hearts in a pre season friendly after a disagreement with a team mate (graeme hogg ex man u) he decked him with a right hook and broke his nose into the bargain. Craig does not suffer fools gladly after one game at aberdeen the team he inherited were well beaten he came out in the press the next day accusing them of being theives needless to say most of the players were emptied before the end of the season. Craig has bulit a team at hearts that have improved every year he has been there despite huge cuts in his budget year on year he likes his players to be team players super fit no egos are allowed. If you have any lazy greedy chancers at leciester they will be emptied very quickly. He likes his players to be very mobile fit well organised and difficult to beat. His record at hearts is amazing we have not lost a game at home (outside the old firm) for more than 2 years, we have conceaded 1 goal at home all season and until recently we had never lost a game away from home in europe. In all honesty i am devastated he has gone but in closing i wish him and you every success and i hope you are back in the premiership before to long. CHEERS

Thank you very much for an excellent post and im sorry about the douting of your clubs standards, its just when annoying hearts supporters and arrogant people who come on here being bitter because we appointed him.

We lost Martin O'Neill to Celtic and that was a very sad day for this football club, one of the best managers in the UK, he had no choice and left for a bigger club, very simular to what CL has done.

We know how it feels and we all felt the same as you now, we wished the very best of luck to Martin and continued to love him but then you have to get back to your club, look at the next manager coming in, face reality and tell yourself this aint the end of the world.

You club and your supporters on the whole are excellent and ive never had a huge interest in the scottish leages but from now i will always look out for your results because you a very passionate and polite club.

Its just the odd pathetic kid that lets you down i suppose, every club has one, unfortunatly, im Leicesters. :(

Thank you and all the best.

I echo those sentiments. Thanks to all the decent Hearts fans who have come here and wished CL and us well, and we do the same to you. Hearts have gained my respect for the way that the club and their fans have handled this news (except a few individuals) and I hope they get a good manager to carry on where Levein left off.

Even though I am from south of the Border and English I would guess at a derivation from Jam Tarts - Hearts. Could be completely wrong though.:unsure::unsure::unsure::rolleyes:

Good post, thanks for your critisisms, there's always one or two fans that don't think about what they are saying and we have our share they seem to forget how we are viewed by some other English clubs. Personally I'm looking forward to the Levein ERA it bodes well. As forthe the Jambo's I suspect from what I've heard that John Robertson could take you that next step and provide a real challenge to Celtic & Rangers, hope you do the more competitive a league is the better for the fans. All the best.

Hearts make approach for Robertson

Hi All you Foxes,I echo everything allijambo said about CL,as a lifelong Jambo too I was gutted at his decision and not a little miffed at the time given the timing of his departure( UEFA CUP games/ new owner etc) but I guess you all felt the same about Martin O'Neil life goes on and we may have John Robertson ( another Hearts legend ) at the helm in time for the Shalke04 game.By a strange quirk of fate I had to make a long standing trip to Wiltshire on Saturday so imagine my surprise when I stopped off at a service station on the M5 to be confronted witha bus load of you guys on route to Cardiff ! ! Great bunch of supporters, we spent a while chatting about CL who to be honest not many had heard of before Friday and given his reputation for giving youth a chance some of you wanted to know if I thought he'dd be back for some of our youngsters? Allijambo may disagree but I wouldnt bet against offers for Craig Gordon, Andy Webster or Joe Hammill coming in before too long. Anyhow its good to forge some links with folks south of the border,I'll be keeping a close watch on your progress and fan sites in future.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

Oh yes...Hearts = Jam Tarts = Jambo's

Ali, great post chap. Hearts and Celtic are now teams I will be looking out for in results up north. We were bitter initially on MON moving to a bigger club but then sometimes you can't stop a great mans destiny. Same with Mr Levein. I believe MON can't stay at Celtic forever, only a club like Liverpool or Man U could prise him away.

and also, believe me we have our fair share of players that fall in the quote above which can only bode well for the future..

well said Dan btw, and no, you're not that bad mate, just controversial at the best of times

Good post by alijambo, I'm sure most Hearts fans would agree with his comments.

As regards Jambo! it has progressed from the ryming slang for Hearts= Jam Tarts then somehow progressed to Jambos. No one is quite sure how it came about but it was sometime in the 80's. Maybe at the same time as the Rambo films is a common sugestion but then again.........? At first it only refered to a Hearts supporter but now it can be a player, manager or even the team.

hope that helps :D

Wish us luck against Shalke 04 on Thursday, cheers and best of luck to you Foxes

Hi to all you leicester fans this the above was from a post i put on here when levien first sighned for you. Would you say his style of management is as i said would be in otherwards has he cut the egos and lazy players and brought in young players who will run all day and fight for the team.

What do you think of maybs and de vries the donkey ??

He got rid of Keown and he had one of the biggest egos I've ever seen. That was a good move imo and yes he's brought in mostly young, hungry players. Alan maybury has been immense and seemed to improve as the season drew to an end but I'm a bit worried to hear that he's had to pull out of the Ireland squad with a pelvic injury. MDV hasn't shown us his best yet but he's shown us signs that he's determined to improve. He can't do much more than he is already to make sure he performs next season.

He also can't do much worse than he already has with some of the shocking performances we saw last season.
