weegie jambo Posted 2 November 2004 Posted 2 November 2004 Hi Guys, according to all sources in Scotland Peter Houston will be CL's right hand man. A good loyal club man and 2nd in command to Craig throughout his management at Hearts. was with Hearts 8 years and briefly took the reins when Jim Jeffries left for Bradford prior to CL coming from Cowdenbeath..Kenny Black AirdrieUtd assistant is meant to be going as reserve coach although CL is quoted as wanting a man with local knowledge so Kevin McDonald could be that man, but Houston's definately number 2. Cheers
Jonbluefox9 Posted 2 November 2004 Posted 2 November 2004 CL has said he's going to appoint a number two who has knowledge of the English game and is currently working in the English Premiership with a youth academy.

Brown Nose Posted 3 November 2004 Posted 3 November 2004 Blimey some of you lads make me feel old. Kevin McDonald played center midfield for us in the early 80's. He left us for Liverpool at his peak and was part of their squad when they still won things. He briefly returned to City on loan from Liverpool a few years later when he had been ravaged by injuries for a couple of years. That was under Pleat and he clearly despaired at the state of the club at the time. After he retired playing, he joined LCFC as a Youth team coach under Brian Little and left with him when he went to Villa. He's been there ever since as far as I know. It would make sense as he has clearly shown an attachment to City over the years being with us three times in various capacities. The only other ex-players working in Youth Academies as far as I know are Robert Kelly (Blackburn) and Ricky Hill (Spurs). Kelly is a possible because he is highly rated and came through LCFC's Youth ranks himself. He's another player who had his injury problems and left us in the mid-80's for Wolves before retiring early. He's been at Blackburn for several years. Hill = no chance. Okay? I'll get back to my pipe and slippers.
Hullfox Posted 3 November 2004 Posted 3 November 2004 Thank god someone else remembers Brown Nose. I don't know, the youth of today....... <_<
