Fox in a Box Posted 17 May 2006 Share Posted 17 May 2006 So LCFC are increasingly using the Official Site as a means of marketing the club, with many of the clubs in the football league using the same 'templates' created by PTV (who design the sites) do you now think its time for an upgrade? We havent got a huge budget if any but, it lit looking increasingly dated, without the web the club would be spending a whole lot more on advertising, print etc to keep us informed of the comings and goings at the club. The template(s) are created in such a way that the information can be updated quickly and efficiently, but a makeover would be nice!! ARE YOU LISTENING TIM DAVIES/ ANDY TAYLOR If you have a look around at some other sites (OFFICIAL ONES) the layouts are different and I think more appealing look at these. http://www.avfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Home/0,,10265,00.html Yes i know its VILLA! http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/index.asp Saints http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/index.html Spurts (awwwwwwww got a cold)

Head Honcho Posted 18 May 2006 Share Posted 18 May 2006 It could do with a bit of a revamp but to be honest don't go on there much anymore due to Leicester City World being constantly shoved down your neck.

THE CLUB OUTTA think of this as a NEGATIVE rather than a positive. Going to a website through choice should be a pleasent experience, Just like being on here.. Okay most stadiums look the same but so did Ibrox, Roker park, and Goodison park when they were built 100 years ago - Read Simon Inglis book on Football Stadiums. Luke_Leicester_Lad Posted 21 May 2006 Share Posted 21 May 2006 The OS is getting boring with the same old things every week. I like the idea of having a makeover on it!

Probably wont happen - will mean more money if it were to happen, and it isnt necessary! Unless the owners upgrade the whole lot - ie. The whole leagues! These are easily updatable, PTV are just a lazy bunch but an ovrehaul is DUE!

There are other issues, like hosting, new technology, testing, making sure its maintainalble. Training will be requiered and maybe people need to be employed to create new websites for PTV which in turn need to be tested. It isnt the case of switching off the current one and turning on another. For the club, it wouldnt be much of a priority, and im not sur ewhat the situation is with PTV. Im just assuming stuff here coz i dont know the current situation on how each site is updated, so it might be easier!

I have been designing and implementing websites for over 10 years, you chose the wrong geezer here matey. Hosting, testing, admin, training all part for the cause.... XML data feeds and selective images based on a template design within a structure. No to difficult now is it! The revenue streams that can be generated by having a new looking site, would out way the cost of implentation. Graphically I mean it needs updating
