Best Live Act award goes to...

In third place, Lou Reed at Glastonbury

In second, The Pixies at Reading

But my best ever has to be The Ramones at the academy back in 1992

Non-stop, blistering sound played at a beat that only the hyperventilating otherwise ever know. Four men, one backdrop and even the sweat dripping down the walls was sweating. My ears rang for weeks afterwards. 1-2-3-4!

Just been talking to some people about The Ramones and about seeing them at Hammersmith Palais when I was still in my early 20s (sometime in the early 80s)

At that time I was still in the habit of jumping around at the front at gigs

The Ramones played about 10 songs back to back only pausing for DeeDee to shout 1 2 3 4 - I was fúcked - I couldn't handle the pace down the front and had to retreat

It's still, and always will be, one of my biggest regrets that I didn't see The Ramones more often than I did

Saying that Bad Brains is still the best live band I've ever seen

Saw them at the Palais, Brixton Academy and Brum. I'm sure I saw them at at least one festival too but I've never been very sentient at festivals... :P

No The White Riot Tour was the year after. That was awesome too, but this was the Hate and War tour May 77.

Got it on CD if you want a copy I'll burn it off for ya and send it.

You guys have made me much jealous - I didn't get to see The Clash until 1985 - and by then Jones had búggered off to big audio dogshíte

Hopefully it'll be Metallica at Donnington this weekend...

But I severely doubt it - Maybe 20-25 years ago they might have been in with a shout
