The sponsorship basically means your company (or in our case syndicate) is associated with the club & ensures the sponsors name is in front of City fans who buy the programme at every home game. In our particular case we always want to back a player who has come through the Academy to back locally developed talent & support them in their early days of making the first team squad. We can then be proud to have been their first sponsor as their career progresses, like Stearman who can now be regarded as a first choice regular. Money wise, to generate more funds for the club of course. Academy sponorships are used directly to fund Academy costs like travel to games & boarding costs of the players.
