Kasabian - "Bring It On"

Recommended Posts

Kasabian have thrown their weight behind Rob Kelly's Foxes ahead of the upcoming campaign.

The Leicester rockers, who grew up in the Blaby area, are lifelong City fans.

Their eponymous-titled debut album exceeded all expectations and sold over 1.2 million copies worldwide.

And as the band gear up for the release of their second record later this summer, singer Tom (right) and guitarist Serge (left) revealed that they were already getting excited about the new season.

Serge said: "Rob Kelly is the man. He came in when we looked down and out and completely turned things round.

"The Luton away game sticks out for me. Something just clicked and we seemed to have the old spirit back again. We were knocking the ball about and we looked decent.

"Our two strikers, Matty Fryatt and Iain Hume, look dangerous and they will score some goals."

Tom added: "Fryatt looks to be a real find and he can only get better. He seems to have struck up a really good understanding with Hume and that's exciting. We're already looking forward to next season."

The duo were visiting the Walkers Stadium to film part of a documentary which will accompany the release of their new album, which is titled 'Empire'.

And during their visit they took the chance to try out the new 2006-07 home shirt for size - and gave it the thumbs up in the process.

Tom said: "I really like it. We got into the club in the early 80s and it reminds me of that era. To think that we are some of the first people to wear it is mad really."

The band, who have penned a version of David Bowie's classic 'Heroes' for ITV's World Cup coverage, are now busy rehearsing for a number of live shows planned for later in the year.

And Serge confirmed that the band and the club still harboured hopes of putting on a huge concert inside the Walkers Stadium sometime in the future.

He said: "It's our dream and we all believe that one day it will happen. A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes over the past year and it is something that we are working towards."

Tom added: "It would be incredible. To play a gig of that size at our club in our hometown would just be amazing."

The club and Kasabian need to get together and talk about doing a song for the club! Hope Kasabian do come to play at the Walkers soon but like everything this club does no doubt it'll end up shite/cock-up/never happen

We actually approached them to do exactly that about 18 months ago.

They were too busy on a world tour at the time to fit it in according to their agents

ask them to do it again, that would be quality everyone could start singing it again and get the walkers rocking to the tune

Yep keep asking them, they seems fairly pleased to help/work with the club, Mind you with the release of a new album soon they'll probably be busy promoting at the moment, but just keep asking/approaching them!
