They will be knocked off top spot if they crash to Leicester today.

And Jewell has contacted Adams  who quit the Foxes last month after nearly three years in charge  for his views.

The Latics boss said: “I spoke to Micky last Sunday and he told me what a good club Leicester is.

“They are packed with Premiership quality and have a decent away record.

“I have no doubt they will be near the front of the queue when the prizes are handed out at the end of the season.â€Â
