From the rivals site re Coventry:

Beware what you say ladies and gents..

Our beloved Chairman is trying to sue our board admin and a supporter who posted a message:

It could be YOU, or You, or You!

And it's not just Chairmen, so let's cut out the personal abuse, that is either a member of this site or a visitor. Apart from being libellous it is also extremely boring.

If someone has a go at you IGNORE them. If you do it's much easier for moderators to remove the offensive material.

While I'm in the pulpit the occurances of swearing and obscene language has increased dramatically recently, can we cut it out and that includes the use of the asterix. It aint big it aint clever and the one thing you can say about the English language is there are lots of alternatives, if you don't know any then use a disctionary if you can't be bothered then keep your mouths shut and put some mittons on.

Here ended todays lesson.

This kind of action is becoming more frequent. It is getting harder to know what is freedom of speech, and what is libellous.

unfortnalytey we don't no what the comment made was, however if it's from a fan, surely it'd be no different to what you hear on the terrances, but in written form, therefore it seems dodgy to sue!

remember "it's them and us"

Slander is harder to prove, it doesn't make things any fairer though.

When it's said on the terraces, you would need witnesses and you would also need to prove it was directed at/meant for a specific person. When it's written down, well it speaks for itself I'm afraid.

For example if someone put in writing on here, for public digestion that davieG is a liar, then I could sue as it would obviously have been aimed at me as there isn't another davieG posting on here and whoever said it would have to provide evidence that I actually am a PERSISTANT liar, not just once.

If that was chanted on the terraces even if they had witnesses, how could it be proved that they meant me.

Not that I am a liar :w00t: lol

Remember this one - what a hoot, i just hope people get as much enjoyment out of it now as they did back then.

Oh the days!

Bring back a old tread a day - give them a chance to once again bask in the glory of page 1 of general chat. They maybe old, but they are still useful.

Did I really write all that? :o what a sanctimonius sounding twat :P And no you can't sue me as I was talking about myself ;)

Tim Davies is far to nice to sue any fan. Infact, I'm sure if you sent him and abusive email, his reply would probably be "thank you for your input. I can assure you i'm doing everything I possibly can to not act like a ******"

That's the trouble with posting on these forums, it normally stays there for all to see, and sometimes when you look at something you've posted in retrospect, you do feel a bit of a dummy-not you of course davieg :P

...........and never post after a few jars!

If the message was deleted how can they be sure who posted it?

I try not to use abusive words when describing somebody. I believe I can express myself much better and without the Kermit knowing about it. I find it more fun baffling the unknowledgable child-bearing procurator with words they are unlikely to see in a Chev's dictionary. I love being a
