David Livermore has surprisingly departed Leeds United less than two weeks after joining the Elland Road outfit and signed for Hull City.

The former Millwall captain sealed his move to the West Yorkshire outfit last month on a two-year deal for a fee of £400,000.

However, Leeds have since landed Kevin Nicholls and with another player en route to the club, Livermore has been deemed surplus to requirements after just 12 days.

With Livermore unlikely to see any playing time with The Whites, Hull have closed in on the versatile 26-year-old and landed his services for an undisclosed fee.

"At the time of signing David, Kevin Nicholls and another potential midfield target weren't available to us," read a statement on the club's official website.

"We then managed to acquire Kevin Nicholls and things have now opened up on another target. If everyone is fit, he (Livermore) is unlikely to play.

"He's an honest professional and when the opportunity came up for him to talk to Hull we gave him that choice."
