Scow Posted 25 November 2004 Posted 25 November 2004 Former Leicester manager Micky Adams is thought to be wanted by Gillingham following the resignation of Andy Hessenthaler, reports BBC Radio Kent.Hull coach and ex-Gills striker Steve Butler has been linked with the post, along with Brentford's Martin Allen. Butler has been recomended by Peter Taylor, his boss at Hull, but Allen has said he wants to remain at Brentford. Yeovil's Gary Johnson and Torquay's Leroy Rosenior have also been talked about as possible candidates. Gills defender Leon Johnson said the players felt responsible for Hessenthaler's resignation. "All the lads are disappointed. We think we could turn it round," said Johnson. "He's resigned but it's down to all the players as well. We're the ones who had the chance. It's basically our fault we're in this position. We're all gutted." Link - BBC Sport He would probably do a decent job there to be fair. Keep them up in the Championship at the expense of Forest.

Anish Posted 26 November 2004 Posted 26 November 2004 I don't think he'd take the job on, he has managed promotion 3 times previously (and could take credit for Brighton winning Div 2 under Taylor) and this seems like a major step backwards in career terms.
