aussie-fox Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 as you may know, i broke my laptop screen last night what im trying to do is hook it up to a normal pc monitor, what ive done is connected the lead from the monitor to the laptop and turned it on and it works allright till u actually get into windows I can see all the laoding up screens before you get into windows put then the screen justs turns off when i get into windows??? ive tried to do different resolution by usinfg the little screen i have left on my laptop but i still cant seem to get it to work does anyone know what im doing wrong?????

Monk Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 Usually there is a button which you can use to toggle the screen mode. not sure what make your laptop is but there is usually a 'fn' key down by the ctrl key which you hold and press the F key which has a picture of a monitor on it. If there is more than one mode you might have to press it several times. Hope that makes sense.
The People's Hero Posted 6 September 2006 Posted 6 September 2006 As suggested above, try cycling through the various monitor functions (see laptop keyboard). Otherwise perhaps try installing the monitor drivers... having said that, they really are much of a muchness.
