Fox in a Box Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 First to the ball... smother the opposite players when there in possession was and still is MON tacktics. Well football is simple really, get the ball pass it go forward shoot and then score. if you have a solide backline then you should win!!! OK, so what am I saying...... generally I think its a fine line as it was shown last night One thing did stick out thou.... I think we are lacking fitness compared to alot of teams that we play. They are sharper, first to the ball, the out run us, they tend to win alot of the 50-50 balls beacuse apart from COG and NISS we are lightweight in size. If I was the manager I would have said OK lads unlucky on the result last night BUT I would require you to come and do fitness 4 times a week starting at 8am tomorrow morning. Half the players didnt look FIT!!! last night
Ultra Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 I agree with a lot of what you've said. But physical strength isn't everything, and means very little if you're as unable to pass the ball as NEJ was last night.

I just think were slow to react, worried about tackling etc, the only one who looks fit is LEVI!! and he 4ft 2 and a little bit!!!
Ultra Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Levi plays without fear, which immediately marks him out among the current sorry bunch masquerading as FOXES..
Foxing_Around Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 if you're as unable to pass the ball as NEJ was last night. I don't think you can just single out Nils, they were far too many poor passes last night all over the pitch. I do think Nils is too slow in passing the ball to Porter however, there were many times when he could have played a quick ball down the wing to Porter but chose to pass back; Hughes is also guilty of holding onto the ball too long IMHO.

Agree hence my posting in the player ratings: Ratings - minimum times they gave the ball away with no pressure on them Henderson 12 Stearman 6 (3 of those were his first touches) Johnson 6 (3 of those were in his first 4 touches, the other one went to Henderson who gave it away) McCarthy 4 Nissa 5 Hume 3 Kisnorbo 2
Jonbluefox9 Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 I saw a lot of players last night pull out of challenges. They weren't beaten to the ball because of fitness but because of desire. I think the majority of Hull's players wanted it more than the majority of ours did. Hughes was guilty of pulling out of a 50-50 challenge more than once. Low was one-on-one with Myhill first half and saw him coming so decided against going for the ball. Johnson put in his first significant challenge since joining us but still shys away, when needed, too often. No ball winner in midfield. When will Wesolowski be given a go? A naturally brave player who never pulls out of a 50-50 and usually comes out the other side with the ball.
Finn Claw Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Holland and barrett are doing a half price sale on protien perhaps we should get the boys drinking that stuff. My dad didn't stop growing until he was 21 perhap there is still some growth to be had out of the side. Stearman will be 6' 5'' by the end of the season fact.......
Swedging Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 If I was the manager I would have said OK lads unlucky on the result last night BUT I would require you to come and do fitness 4 times a week starting at 8am tomorrow morning. I reckon Fryatt has done too much time in the gym over the summer. He looks like he's bulked up to make himself stronger - and that's never going to be where his game's at.

It is scandelous that 8 games in to the season we are still not fit enough to compete against teams and the entire management staff must take the blame. It's a f'ckin disgrace.

What's enough to give Kelly his cards is, the fact that after 8 games he's still allowing or encouraging our team to hoof the ball at every opportunity. Now that is unforgivable, the main reason why we aren't scoring.
bigneville Posted 14 September 2006 Posted 14 September 2006 for once i agrtee barton bus bloke! I must agree with some of Barton's post. At first i felt he was over pessmistic saying pre-season we where going to struggle, but he's being proved right. Maybe he has some good ideas. I'd like to know who would you want to manage the club Barton?
