Theheartsdaddy Posted 6 December 2004 Posted 6 December 2004 Hello Leicester fans Was just wondering what you thought of your new manager? Ive noticed that your results have been improving over the last couple of weeks - especially a good win last week at Leeds. From a Hearts point of view we were disapointed to see our gaffer leave for Leicester and a little bit annoyed as we had an important UEFA game a couple of days later . At Hearts Craig installed a system where we would use a 'target man' and bang high balls up to big Mark DeVries - this seemed to work for us as teams had difficulty against the strenght of DeVries. John Robertson has recently been installed as new manager at Tyncastle and the differences are apparent already. We are passing the ball on the deck and at times playing good football. Was just wanting to know what style Craig has adopted so far at Leicester. As for transfers i am a bit worried by the amount of players Hearts have available on free transfers for Craig to take. We have 12 players out of contract at the end of the season, the main ones, Mark DeVries, Alan Maybury, Steven Pressley and Patrick Kisnorbo (but you can take him ) Good luck with the rest of the season
Muz Posted 6 December 2004 Posted 6 December 2004 Cheers mate. CL is doing very well here. Unlike MA's teams that sat back alot, when we were under pressure at Leeds the team sat back a little but generally were more confident. He sems like he's getting more out of players and there fighting for the ball more now. CL also seems to have a very good team talk.1st half v Leeds we werent very good but the second half we came out firing on all cylinders like we did v Plymouth.
Cobbo Posted 6 December 2004 Posted 6 December 2004 Cheers mate, good luck to you too Craig has looked very impressive so far, got us playing a lot more football than we were to be honest. He has dropped under performing players and got the best out of others who had not performed up until now. We are playing with far more confidence. Things look very promising so far, hope he can keep improving us from now on.

Ric Flair Posted 6 December 2004 Posted 6 December 2004 Levein is doing well here, he has instantly gained the respect of the players and the fans and things are looking up. I am impressed with the style of football we are playing, it's a better upbeat tempo and the passing and movement is quality at times. Could you give us some info on what Levein's policy was like regarding young players? Did he bring alot of players in to the first team from the youth team and reserves? If so did he do this straight away or did he wait a year or so? Reason why I ask is because in his press conference when he was appointed he said he wanted to lower the age of the first team and get some home grown players in. He hasn't done that as of yet and was wondering if he waited a while at Hearts before developing the youngsters. We have some excellent youngsters and hope to dear god he brings them through as our last manager neglected them.

Andy Webster is one of Scotland's brightest futures . He came into the squad at a very young age at Hearts after signing from Arbroath. Andy then went through a very rough patch after being hailed as the best thing in Scotland. (mainly Berti "idiot" Vogts fault ) Levein then rested him for a couple of months to get his feet back on the floor, and it helped him to develop overall as a player Craig Gordon is another young talent with a bright future. After our high wage earner Tepi Molinean made too many mistakes Levein had no bother at throwing Gordon into the spotlight. Now a Scottish Internationalist (WOW! ) However, Paul McMullan, a talented youngster played a few good games for Hearts then disappeared of the scene. Rumours had it that Levein fell out with him - dont no why

If you lose De Vries, at least you would still have a big physical and tall presence up front with Tricky Trevor
