Daggers Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 OS Link The match finished 3-3 - with Momo Sylla and Elvis Hammond (2) getting on the scoresheet for the Foxes. City boss Rob Kelly said: "It was a good game contested between two strong teams. It was very worthwhile exercise."
syston_fox Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 Good to see Douglas is continuing where he left off last season by conceeding three goals..... Momo scored though! He seems to have a great record in pre-season and friendly games but then falls to pieces when put in front of a larger crowd!
Master Fox Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 Super! We could really do with Rab coming back......Not!

syston_fox Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 I didnt mean that he conceeded three in his last appearance just that he doesnt like keeping clean sheets! And in answer to your question.... it happened twice! Sheff Utd and Stoke away.
gatesheadfox Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 Good to see Douglas is continuing where he left off last season by conceeding three goals..... that would suggest he left off last season conceding 3 goals.......can you tell i'm bored at work?
Joe. Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 Get rid of Sylla! He is a complete and utter waste of space, time and money. I'm guessing he is on a good wage and getting rid of him could solve some of our money woes. Even if it means shipping him out on loan for a bit, it would still pave the way for us to bring a new loan face in. Same goes to Rab...
Jonbluefox9 Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 I don't know whether Jon Sanders still controls the website but what a poor attempt at an article that is. It doesn't say who started for us nevermind who started for Coventry. I know it's only a behind closed doors friendly but come on, try to make it seem news worthy by actually making it seem as if you were at the game eventhough the chances are he wasn't.

You've probably answered your own question. I've mentioned before, the club doesn't give a shit about keeping us properly informed.
syston_fox Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 that would suggest he left off last season conceding 3 goals.......can you tell i'm bored at work? I can tell you're just trying to be very picky!

It's a joke. If I was paid to report on all things Leicester City I would make sure I knew everything and watched training, youth team matches, behind closed doors friendlies and first team games. I bet Sanders didn't even speak to Rob Kelly after the match. Just churned out something that sounds like a manager would say. If he thinks he's a journalist then he should start to take his work a bit more seriously and take a bit of pride in articles he produces.

Why don't you do some reports on here of the Academy matches? Show em what they're missing.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 Why don't you do some reports on here of the Academy matches? Show em what they're missing. I may well do. Not much danger of them being any worse than the ones they put up on the os every week.
Thracian Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 From Sky Blues MAD LEICESTER CITY RESERVES 3-3 COVENTRY CITY RESERVES BY KEV MONKS Coventry City Reserves scored three excellent goals in a friendly at Leicester City this lunch-time. Alan Cork was able to field a very experienced side for this game at Leicester's training ground. The opening exchanges were tight with Isaac Osbourne having the only real effort with a long ranger that flew wide in the 12th minute. City took the lead in the 21st minute. Dele Adebola raced out of defence, shrugged off a marker and unselfishly squared for Kevin Thornton to stroke into the net from ten yards. Two minutes later, more good work from Adebola played in Thornton once more. This time, the young Irishman's shot struck the far post with the keeper well beaten. The home side drew level in the 37th minute when Momo Sila rose to head in a corner after some hesitancy from Gonzalez. Two minutes later,City went straight up the other end. Ryan Lynch cut inside and thundered a twenty yarder into the top of the net at the far post. On the stroke of half-time,a mistake in the Sky Blues defence fell for Elvis Hammond to poke the ball past the advancing Gonzalez. Leicester had the early pressure in the opening exchanges in the second half. Dele Adebola was forced to clear off his line from a Danny Tiatto 50th minute free kick but ten minutes later, Elvis Hammond raced into the penalty area. The former Fulham youngster went down under a challenge from Ryan Lynch but got up to score from the resulting penalty. Back came the Sky Blues and with twenty minutes left. Isaac Osbourne and Thornton worked well to lay the ball back to Don Hutchison who smashed a thirty yarder high into the net with a strike that was equally good if not better than his goal at Leeds United last season. David McNamee looked comfortable at the back whilst the experience of Hutchison, Cameron and Adebola in midfield ensured that City left with a point and remain unbeaten in eight consecutive matches. Goals Thornton (21),Sila (36),Lynch (39),Hammond (44. & 60),Hutchison (70) Team Gonzalez,Whing,Lynch,Osbourne,McNamee,Heath,Gooding,Cameron,Adebola,Thornton,Hutchison SNU Belford,Hildreth,Ashraf,Francis. Behind closed doors or not someone got a proper report. .

Be interesting to know who else played for us. Douglas, Maybury, Tiatto, Williams, Sylla, Hammond, Kisnorbo (according to www.ccfc.co.uk) and four others?!

I wouldn't be surprised if Dodds played - he was due some football. Wouldn't be surprised if he was so unfamiliar with football that he turned up with his cricket gear.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 I wouldn't be surprised if Dodds played - he was due some football. I'd like to think he played but I'm surprised he didn't score if that was the case. He's probably rusty. He's been used to playing regularly for so long at various levels.

Guest Gist Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 Just shows we can score and should take that approach with league games.
