The nature of the abuse will have scarred him as well, because it is all sectarian stuff and unless you live in NI or Scotland (sadly linked to the Old Scum) then you are sheltered from how nasty it is.I don't think he will be the player we remember him to be as those experiences will leave a lasting effect on him. However, that said it might just be that he is totally refreshed away from all of that hatred and be as good or if not better. Most tend to boo Lennon because he is a very dirty player who often takes swipes at players behind the refs back. The only slight difference which leads me to believe his attitude would differ greatly from Wise's is that he is an ex City player. This club kick started his career and he would therefore have the greatest respect for us I'd imagine. With Wise he was already a Chelsea favourite and had no need to re-establish this image with a new team. This suggest he could have a prolongued career and I would love for him to be our protective midfield player. Comparing him to Nalis is stupid as they do different roles, but I will say this, Lennon was at one time one of the best players in the premiership lets not pretend Nalis is anywhere near that good. BM you called him a scumbag because you wanted to be contriversal. You could have said you don't wan trhim becaus eof his age and his alleged alcohol problem but instead you wanted to be antagonistic. It pisses a large number of people off, something that I am sure you enjoy but please don't patronise other people by calling them immature if you can't help but draw the spotlight to yourself. <_<

He used to have so much energy, making box to box runs in his early days with us. As time went on though, obviously this became a feature which appeared less in his game. If you watched the play off final v Palace in 1996, he was everywhere that day. Although, that is a very long time ago now...

While I won't dispute that it's not all fans the vast majority of abuse he gets is because he is a catholic who plays for Celtic and is Northern Irish. Anton Rogan went through the exact same ordeal back in the 1980's. As for being snide???? not sure he was like that when he was here and I would wager that some people us that as an excuse to mask their bigotry.

Dirty bastard. One thing I will say about Lennon as a player was he was amazing in the O'Neill years but also I would say he always had a dodgy patch around about christmas. He always looked like he was carrying abit of weight around that period and his game suffered. He was also fairly crap in the time he played for us under Taylor (I know most players were, but Lennon especially) and I wouldn't want him back. One of the main reasons he was so good was his partner in crime Muzzy Izzet, without him he was never the same player for us. Same could be said when Lennon left us, Izzet looked half the player he did under O'Neill with Lennon and Savage alongside him. He's 34 now, there's no doubt he's been a good player but i'll put money on it that he's not as good as he used to be. We've had 3 years of signing players well past their best, some have paid off, some haven't but overall under a new legacy I think we should steer clear of who used to be good. Reputations mean **** all in this league or the premiership and we've found that out with the likes of Dublin, Dabizas, Gillespie, Howey, Hignett, etc we need to look to the future, learn from our mistakes and go about it that way. Don't get me wrong, experience is vital especially someone like Lennon but I would rather us build a team with players who can potentially stay in our team for a number of years.
