dandannieldanok Posted 5 October 2006 Posted 5 October 2006 my home town has got quorn in the 3rd qualifiying round. Anyone no anything about them? Apart from Luke Varney! I support them, went to the 2nd qualifying round game on Tuesday against Belper. They played 4-5-1 and it worked to good effect. The striker, Gordon, is crap but the right winger, Nigel Julian, is extremely skilful. Plus, Quorn have a tall defence that is quite strong.
Sods Posted 5 October 2006 Author Posted 5 October 2006 Anyway i shall be going to the quorn match on the 14th. nly 2 games and my local eam gets on MOTD
Tevez Posted 5 October 2006 Posted 5 October 2006 jonas is supposedly quite good for quorn if he still plays?

Thracian Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 my home town has got quorn in the 3rd qualifiying round. Anyone no anything about them? Apart from Luke Varney! If Stuart Turner's still around and having anything to do with them they'll probably whack everything in sight.
Tommeh Posted 6 October 2006 Posted 6 October 2006 Big stu's still there and we're doing very well. i went to see the u/18s last night draw 2-2. Assuming LCFC havn't got a game I'll be there for the nxt round of the FA cup I live right across the road from sutton park - lovely little ground
dandannieldanok Posted 9 October 2006 Posted 9 October 2006 how is jonas getting on now ? not seen him 4 a few months . he used to play for me at beaumont town a few years ago , absolutly devastating player on his day I don't think he plays for Quorn anymore, unfortunately. Like you said he was dynamite on his day and Quorn, although they won really could have done better with him. I did see him at the game but only as a spectator. He was with about 5 other players that have played for Quorn in the time I have seen them. Plus, Varney was down there too.

Assuming LCFC havn't got a game I'll be there for the nxt round of the FA cup I live right across the road from sutton park - lovely little ground I used to live in Station Road and bought a consul Convertible from the owner of the Hurst Hotel if it's still there. Played against Quorn a few times as a 15-year-old and club tennis there too at the Manor.
dandannieldanok Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 Anyone going today? I would have if I weren't going to the southampton game. Probably be nearly 500 down there today. COME ON QUORN!!! P.s Does anyone know how many more qualifying rounds there are?
Tubes Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 how did quorn get on today? 0-0 replay tuesday apparently they wernt very good today though
Durnerz Posted 15 October 2006 Posted 15 October 2006 Few of the lads in my sunday team play for Quorn and also played for them, Lee Dawson, Rich Burford and Paul Gunn the ones I know of. I trained with them pre season but gave it up.
Sods Posted 16 October 2006 Author Posted 16 October 2006 Is anyone going to the replay, i will be as i live in Brackley and they are my second team it will be nice to see some fellow foxes. Winner plays havant and waterlooville at home
Ultra Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 And the winner of the clash with H&W goes into the 1st round proper. Wouldn't it be amusing if Quorn were drawn against Forest!
Sods Posted 17 October 2006 Author Posted 17 October 2006 Tonight mate in Brackley. Wouldnt it be better if Brackley played Forest
Sods Posted 17 October 2006 Author Posted 17 October 2006 If anyone is coming down i would love to meet you
Fez of Mahrez Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Damn I can't make it tonight. Shame cos I would definitely have gone to that. Hope Brackley make it through, yeah Forest in Round One would be awesome!
Jonbluefox9 Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 I don't go and watch Quorn now. All the players that used to play there have moved on to either Barwell, Loughborough Dynamo etc because Steel and Keast left for those clubs. I used to go regularly when they had Hennigan up front and when Varney made his breakthrough. I remember Varney getting injured during the last home game of the season Quorn got promoted to the Midland Alliance a few years ago. Craig Noble was a very good player for them and Karl Noble did well for a season or two before moving on. Gavin Otterwell was skipper of that team.
bold_fox Posted 18 October 2006 Posted 18 October 2006 I used to play for Quorn a few years ago. Played for the U18's for 3 years, then played for the Reserve's and the first team a couple of times before i went to Uni. Used to play with Luke actually.... was a great player.... and absolutly lightening quick.... The problem with quorn was how cliche it was.... need some serious managerial changes when i was they. Often look for there results. Shame about last night > > >
