MONreborn Posted 18 October 2006 Share Posted 18 October 2006 4 points of play offs, just imagine if we didn't have such a shite start and a wobble against Hull and Colchester at home
lookwhaticando Posted 18 October 2006 Share Posted 18 October 2006 Look at us go! I see Sheffield Wed are lingering around the bottom - perhaps because they're missing their star LB? Funny how Preston are in 2nd right now - after their highly-rated manager left. I must say the top half of the table, half of it is quite surprising. Burnley?! Wolves? Crystal Palace? Roll on Crystal Palace, I think we can roll them over.
I_miss_wembley_finals Posted 18 October 2006 Share Posted 18 October 2006 Whilst things are improving for us I reckon our position could be even better than it looks on paper....let me explain. Of the 12 teams ahead of us, I certainly think some of them are 'fortunate' to be there and cannot see their form continuing, not in the way it has so far anyway. The likes of Luton, Plymouth and Burnley, even Preston - can they all sustain what they have achieved so far? I am not convinced. And then there are those that have showed good recent form, Wolves and Derby, and those that are somewhat in free fall, like Southampton, Birmingham and Palace. Now I wouldn't like to be quoted on some of those comments, as I have not looked at form for any of them, just the feeling I am getting, and whilst we have teams below us likely to find some form at some point I think there are definitely teams above us, that over the course of the season, we will finish above. It's what we do that's going to matter. As Kelly says, we can't influence what others do but I certainly wouldn't assume anyone cannot sustain their efforts. Kelly's approach has been to make us hard to beat and with the emergence of McAuley we have every chance of remaining tight defensively. Our challenge is to improve in midfield and to continue having the skill, speed and ingenuity to break good defences down and to continue our minimum target of scoring two goals a game as we have done for the last three matches. Ultra Posted 18 October 2006 Share Posted 18 October 2006 So you'd prefer it if we were easy to beat?

I would look it up but I can't be arsed.

Harpenden Fox Posted 18 October 2006 Share Posted 18 October 2006 Bad news - we've plummeted down the table to 14th after Colchester beat Sheff Weds 4-0 tonight. What's Kelly think he's playing at.....

What are Sheff Wed playing at?? A 4-0 loss to Colchester is not acceptable for any club in this division. Or any other division for that matter
