I reckon this could be true, I went to the game with John Carver's mate on Tuesday, he thought that Gary Mac was in line.
Brad_SWFC Posted 20 October 2006 Posted 20 October 2006 Is this what Leeds need ? An inexperienced manager ? Or do you think that they need a proven manager to sort them out on the field ?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 October 2006 Posted 20 October 2006 Big task to take on but you'd have thought Bates will bail them out if things are still hairy in January. Shame, I loved Gary Mac but I can't bring myself to want Leeds to do well.

Unfortunately, the clubs like Leeds, SW and Leics can only afford experienced managers with a history of failure in thier baggage so are increasingly looking for the next up and coming genius with a pocketful of horse shoes or an ex-favourite which they hope will placate the fans, the later usually ends in failure, and that's the one that Gary Mac fits. Oh well good luck to the guy, he deserves some.

Yeah And Pearson to go to Sheff Wed, strangely a few days after taking himself out of the running for the baggies job, which prededed Sturrocks sacking...hmm a tip off from Mr Allen to Mr Pearson per chance?
Ric Flair Posted 20 October 2006 Posted 20 October 2006 I'm glad this is happening, it should mean that we won't have to put up with the McCallister rumours when we next need a new manager. Unless he's been sacked and back on the rock and roll.

Maybe so... As much as i loved Pearson as a player and captain and he was terrific for us. I am unsure whether he can manage us... he had an unsuccessful spell at Carlisle, maybe him coming in as assistant to someone else yeah, but i ain't totally convinced with Pearson.

Joe. Posted 20 October 2006 Posted 20 October 2006 I don't think it would be a bad choice. We'll have to wait and see how he does...
City_4_Life Posted 20 October 2006 Posted 20 October 2006 If they are going to get an ex player in, then they should of gone for Chris Kamara. Now that would be funny to see.
lookwhaticando Posted 20 October 2006 Posted 20 October 2006 As long as they don't appoint one of our best players - another CB, for example - I'm not all that bothered who it turns out to be. Good luck to him, if he gets the gig, though. Good luck for next season's promotion campaign, I mean.
NFFC Chris Posted 21 October 2006 Posted 21 October 2006 Ken Bates has denied and has said he's spoken to two different managers but not McCallister.
lildave3 Posted 21 October 2006 Posted 21 October 2006 I heard Glenn Hoddle was in the running... Maybe he's one of the 2 other managers.
