Scow Posted 14 December 2004 Posted 14 December 2004 ...Dismiss us as rivals? I know Derby are seen as their man rivals because they are geographically closer, but a lot of Forest fans claim they don't care about us. Is it because we've been far more successful than them in recent years, and the only way they can get back at us is to dismiss us rivals? If we're not rivals, why do they always sell out against us, both home and away?
Teeno Posted 14 December 2004 Posted 14 December 2004 They like to wind us up with it, You'll see on Friday how much they don't like us. In the City of Nottingham it's a lot nearer to Derby hence why they hate them more, but in places like Loughborough and Melton where I live I'm 17 miles from Leicester and 15 from Notts, so the own is very mixed between both sets. So City and Forest fans in Melton hate City or Forest a lot more than Derby. It's all about where abouts in the region you live though.
Guest Posted 14 December 2004 Posted 14 December 2004 It's like people in the south and west of Leicestershire hate Cov more than Derby or Forest. Personally, I hate them al!!
Muz Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 I live in the outskirts of nottingham And They do see Derby as more of a 'rival' but trust me they do hate Leicester! Even im not crazy enough to walk around Nottingham City Centre in my Leicester shirt. They do just say that to wind us Leicester fans up. But like Teeno said we will see on Friday night how much the forest boys hate us
Jonesy_rules Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 i live near hinckley / rugby area, yet i hate all midlands teams the same
Craig Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 I live in Kettering so i'm about the same distance from each of the rivals... I hate Forest most though, then Coventry, then Derby <_<
Ricey Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 They only dismiss us as rivals when we beat them! They don't dismiss us when they win. I hate Forest more than any of our other rivals.
BR Forest Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 Speaking as a Forest fan, yes, it's true, Derby are the main rivals. However, it IS always good to get one over on Leicester. Sadly, this year, I doubt we'll have much to crow about. A manager who dismisses the Derby game as 'just another game', has lost most fans support, a chairman who refuses to put any more money in (some may say rightfully), and a rotten injury list (on top of shite like Impey and Rogers ), doesn't bode well. Oh, by the way, I come in peace. Only found this place because one of your members found our fantalk site - Talk Forest Feel free to visit, but be civil (as civil as can be expected ) Be good, and good luck for Friday (as if you'll need it) Oh yes, BIG protest planned in the main car park for Friday, should make 'interesting' viewing.
Scow Posted 15 December 2004 Author Posted 15 December 2004 Nice to see a decent Forest supporter posting. Out of Impey and Rogers, who has been the worst?

It'l be nice to see some pre match entertainment for once
BR Forest Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 Come on Scowy, I thought we were playing nicely. You can't make me choose Seriously, Impey! And the protest is scheduled for 7pm.

We'll obviously enjoy the situation while we can so please don't spoil it for us on friday.
