shen Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 Oh come on next you will be telling me how big your club is and how many trophies you have won .what is your average gate? Has your forum only got 2 members on it yourelf and yourself and thats why your on ours.I am willing to put a few quid on your team bottling it . 46861 I'm assuming this is a response to Wigan boy's usual brainless comment that appear every once in a while in our threads...
Jonbluefox9 Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 I can't go to an away game without an adult of some kind and my Dad's at work on Friday night and my brother doesn't want to go to the actual game so I can't go. Does that make me a bad fan? It's out of my hands whether I can go or not. So I'll be in the 1884 bar watching it there as I wouldn't be welcomed in a pub and I haven't got Sky Sports at home. Some people don't have a choice whether they can go or not. Back to Foxes Trust's point, I agree. I go to all of the home games and a few away games each season but me and my brother have done collections for the Birch's run and for the Foxes Trust outside the ground when it first started. The second things are as important as going to the actual games because we gave up time to try and help Keith Weller and the club when it was going through a low point.

Stuliasz Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 I know davie, I'm just trying to get certain people to see beyond what seems to be a very small minded world.
shen Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 I would be happy if I could just watch the game on TV in the first place! Will it be shown on SKy and at what time?
Stuliasz Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 Yeh it is on sky, kick off is 19.45 i presume.
shen Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 Ok...I'll be on my way down to Belgium on Sat... Might not be able to make it to a pub in time
Hullfox Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 Two points: 1) Wigan Boy, by all means enjoy your team whilst they play well but don't come on to our forum and be a nobhead. 2) The original point was raised by Teeno who is one of the people complaining in a different thread that he had no money to buy Christmas presents. Therefore he should fully understand that others cannot afford to pay out £31 to watch Leicester.
Anish Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 There is no need to justify yourself if you are not going to an away game, as Davieg said. I was a student until this summer and I only began to start going to away games last season - it is extremely difficult both financially and time-wise to go to football matches every week. As somebody pointed out, people who prefer to spend their money on merchandise rather than away games are actually giving more money to the club.

Nathan_Ellington_WAFC Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 thats it, let all your anger and bitterness out on my club that is going places
Muz Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 thats it, let all your anger and bitterness out on my club that is going places 46984 with a grand totat of 15k fans god the support up there is outstanding dont you think
Nathan_Ellington_WAFC Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 we dont even get 15k is this all you can do, have a cheap dig at our crowds? you must realise by now that it doesnt bother me why cant you have a go at my team? oh wait.... crowds mean nothing, look at sheffield wednesday oh, and what crowds do juventus get? change the record eh?

TrickyTrev Posted 15 December 2004 Posted 15 December 2004 I can't affford to hgo to away and home games, it is just too much money. As a result I have to pick a few away games a season to go and see, because of location I prefer to go to London as it is cheaper for me. I would never pick a game ona Friday night thtat is being televised and that is ridiculously over priced. It's great that you can buy a ticket and pay for travel without thinking about it too much, but that is not a realistic situation for 90% of people. Supporting a football club is not a macho competiton of who can be the most 'loyal' to their club, if you believe it is then you are a marketers dream.
Guest Posted 16 December 2004 Posted 16 December 2004 thats it, let all your anger and bitterness out on my club that is going places 46984 Like I've already asked, what bitterness? I know everybody loves a 'David', but to be honest, we find a 'David' who thinks he's 'Goliath' hilariously funny!! Keep up the good work!
Jonesy_rules Posted 16 December 2004 Posted 16 December 2004 We aren't bitter nor angry, just find it funny that someone comes on here, slags off our team, and supports a team that while doing well upto the end of December, whom haven't proven themselves with the big boys, whereas we have, remember the top 10 finishes, the trophies??? and that's all in the past 5/6 years! come on wigan boy when you can compete with the big boys the record will change! must be lonely in the stadium on a match day, or are you one of these "fans" that have never been nor never brought anything from the club?
Craig Posted 16 December 2004 Posted 16 December 2004 I'm fed up of this. Why are we looking back on the past 10 years or so all the time when comparing us to Wigan? If a forest fan comes on here and boasts about winning the European Cup 25 years ago, we slate them and tell them to stop living in the past. We're doing exactly the same here! Wigan have shocking attendances, but wouldn't you rather be in an empty ground watching Leicester sail to the premiership? I would.
Jonesy_rules Posted 16 December 2004 Posted 16 December 2004 i was just stating, but yea agree with u in some respects
Nathan_Ellington_WAFC Posted 16 December 2004 Posted 16 December 2004 jonesy, first it was in november that we're slipping down, now you're saying we will ''not do good'' at the end of december cant you get it into your stupid mind that we have a team that is very easily capable of finising in the top 2 craig, thanks for posting what i would of done he seems to be living in the past, which is pretty pathetic, shows how you're scraping the barrell talk about the present eh? craig, you was going well until ''shocking attendances, empty ground'' why dont you do some research instead of having a lazy attitude? i agree our crowds should be better, but the club has come along way and unfortunately the crowds havent risen as quick as the club has, and you cant just expect us to get 25k every home game, considering we only got 2k 8 years ago, and so our crowds have risen very well but its people like you who dont see this

MON Posted 16 December 2004 Posted 16 December 2004 I didnt read all of your post, just flicked through. But I agree Wigan is a team on the rise. It's a shame The owner of JJB couldnt of brought a club like us. If we're doing well we have a fan base of 32k. As shown in the promotion season, and the season last year. We have 22/23k fans anyway. Our club needs to be built, not 10 plyers in 10 out every season. Thats just stupid, and now team spirit can be built.
Nathan_Ellington_WAFC Posted 16 December 2004 Posted 16 December 2004 muzzy, i'm making a point which is relevant, so why dont you read all of the post and the ones i replied to when dave whelan bought us we was on the verge of going out of business with crowds of 1400
