Bert Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 As the majority of you will know, Saturday is rememberence day, i'm just wondering whether anyone knows if there will be a minute's silence before kick off?

Probably, there will be a half-time parade of soldiers from the Leicestershire Regiment I should expect.
London_Fox Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 I'd expect so...they'll do a lap at half time and a minute's silence before the game.
lcfc_jme Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 I'd have to assume so, it's common place with such significant events and will quite possibly continue this year as well
Guest Gist Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 I love the rememberance fixture I think it's a great idea to give them the thanks they truely deserve.
Darren27 Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 There is something on the OS about Saturday, http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~923780,00.html British Legion will be there collecting money, a parade at halftime and a reduced price for Senior Citizens with a donation to the BL from ticket sales. I suspect that there will also be a silence before the game. With our troops in action it important that we take the time to remember the scrafice they have to make for us. I dont think they should be out there, but I fully support them while they are.
Trumpet Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 I reckon there'll be 90 minutes silence on saturday.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 I reckon there'll be 90 minutes silence on saturday. Good one
lcfc_jme Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 I reckon there'll be 90 minutes silence on saturday. Frightening, but probably true if the performance mirrors that of the Sheffield Wednesday performance. Which hopefully with us being at home, Kisnorbo and Weso back in contention, it most certainly will not
holly Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 i like doing it coz when its over the roar is fab, well thats if we manage to generate a decent roar
Simi Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Anyone know if we are having the poppies on the shirt again?
gatesheadfox Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 i like doing it coz when its over the roar is fab, well thats if we manage to generate a decent roar we'll probably end the minutes silence with some gay PHG
Wils Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 Anyone know if we are having the poppies on the shirt again? Yeah it sais in the article on the OS they will. There getting auctioned after the game.
gatesheadfox Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 the minutes silence for this occasion is probably the only one i actually don't mind. i may not be alone in thinking silence for footballers should actually be clapping, and most other things are irrelevant and kept out of football....but this is an important day of rememberance. the poppies on the shirt thing is a good idea, was it us who did this originally?

It was. The same regime who supposedly can't organise a booze-up in Burton-on Trent..
Bluefoxtim Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Everytime we have a minute's silence a loud groaning comes from the west stand, also happened at Filbo... I can't wait for the over-sized plastic Poppy's!
