Scow Posted 22 December 2004 Posted 22 December 2004 Leicester City boss Craig Levein has admitted he is worried about how long it is taking defender Matt Elliott to recover from knee surgery.Elliott had an operation in the summer but has managed just three appearances for the Foxes this term. "He is rebuilding the muscle around the joint but there is an area for concern with Matt's knee," said Levein. "I've not yet discussed with Matt the way we go forward but in two or three weeks we'll have to talk about it." Meanwhile, Levein is ready to recall Ian Walker to training despite there being no improvement in the goalkeeper's knee injury. Levein added: "The trouble is, there isn't really that much there to be operated on so maybe we're going to have to push Ian back into training and see how we go." Mark Posted 22 December 2004 Posted 22 December 2004 Too old. Too slow. Too injury prone = Thanks Matt, but you've got 3 aging defenders ahead of you, and we don't want to make that four of them
davieG Posted 22 December 2004 Posted 22 December 2004 Sums up Leveins trouble and MA's short-sitedness. Aged injury prone players and no money. :w00t:
dhermon Posted 22 December 2004 Posted 22 December 2004 a sad way for it to end really but all good things come to an end.......... now matt bugger off your wages are needed else where
Phil Posted 23 December 2004 Posted 23 December 2004 must say whilst Mr Elliot was on laon with us at the end of last season he impressed us, always solid at the back and a good organiser, but looking at last years defence pretty much anyone looked good, only MK dons and bunley let in more last season in division 1 or the fizzy pop league as its now known

Anish Posted 23 December 2004 Posted 23 December 2004 Blame Peter Taylor and John Elsom for giving him such a lengthy and lucarative contract when he was already in his 30s. He's holding the club back this season and has done nothing to warrant all the money he's been getting for the last 2 seasons.
MON Posted 25 December 2004 Posted 25 December 2004 Please Matty retire for the sake of our promotion push. B)
