Mark Posted 27 December 2004 Posted 27 December 2004 "We don't have many changes that we can make for the game really, but we are looking at one or two things. Some of the senior players played 90 minutes on Sunday so we will have to see how they come out of the match." I'm afraid we do. Stephen Dawson in midfield please and Tommy Wright up front with Connolly. Two players who have yet to prove they are shit, and if Tommy is, fair enough, but at least you can guarantee he will try for the whole 90 minutes and do all he can for the team. If the two players he's thinking of bringing in are Gemmill and Blake, then i dont know what to think.
Scow Posted 27 December 2004 Posted 27 December 2004 The changes probably mean replacing Dublin and Keown with Heath and Dabizas. <_<
MADLEVEIN Posted 27 December 2004 Posted 27 December 2004 my team for sheff utd would be; taylor stearman keown dabizas makin gillespie williams gudjonnson stewart connolly dublin subs fatty heath nalis morris wright (to play second half if connors is shite)

Connolly and Wright starting and if anyone will be shit it will be Dublin.

Cobbo Posted 27 December 2004 Posted 27 December 2004 Anyone who has seen Dion up front this season will tell you that he's not any good there. Reeeaaally bad infact. Let's please not take a step backwards, Dion has been solid at CB and much more of an asset there.

Keown won't figure against Sheff, Dabizas will be thrown striaght back into the fire to my hightening displeasure! And as for Dawson I think he'll finally step upto the bench, Benji will now disappear allowing Tommy his spot on the bench and Makin will conitnue at right back as Levein will go for the 'experience' rather than putting a lightweight young lad out there against a strong Sheff Utd team! I also reckon CL with throw caution to wind and drop Lilly, bringing in Gemmill of all people (someone tell me why he's still here ), Scowy will have the faith kept in him again however will be brought off shortly after CL realisesas I reckon he did with Nalis against Rotherham that he is going through a bad patch, cue Tommy Wright, he'll need to impress, and I think he'll do that with a great link up with connolly which we've yet to see! Morris may however lose his spot in the team with Williams coming in to push the team into a crazy 3-5-2 formation. Heath is sitting this one out again, and Dublin will continue to deputise at the back. This is only my theory on how CL has played his cards thus far, we'll see tomorrow!

Anish Posted 27 December 2004 Posted 27 December 2004 That quote by Levein worries me a great deal. How can he say we've got very few options - hello, we can bring in players such as Dabizas, Heath, Stearman, Dawson, Williams, Wright, Blake, Gemmill etc. I know the latter 2 are shite but that list shows that we do have a number of options available to change things. I am beginning to feel that no matter how poor we play, Levein will not make wholesale changes - even if a blind man can see that that is needed.
Sparky Posted 27 December 2004 Posted 27 December 2004 the team i would pick taylor dublin stearman keown gillespie (i know he aint a wing back , no options though) dawson williams gudjohnson stewart connolly wright pressman heath nalis morris scowcroft
