Hullfox Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 Notwithstanding the level of the opposition yesterday, I came away with just a smidgen of optimism. The way the team (and the crowd) was gee'd up by the introduction of Maybury and De Vries gave me a bit of hope that we can raise our game. Williams has surely booked his place for the next few games and with him driving us forward from the middle of the park hopefully we can start to entertain. Winning will come in due course but for now I'll settle for the entertainment.

Scow Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 I think you're right, Davie. Williams needs either cover around him, or a strong partner to shine - i.e. Dawson. You could see yesterday how he gets forward well and should have scored more than the one. We did show some nice sequences of passing football at times, and the introduction of Maybury and De Vries definitely livened up the game. Makin and Scowcroft out, please.

Ric Flair Posted 10 January 2005 Posted 10 January 2005 Williams is too good for this shower of shite he has around him. I've been saying for ages Williams is our most talented player, but he's never going to run like **** all day and you have to in a team bunch of wankers like we've got.

Williams (he scored the first lets say) nearly had a hat-trick as I was in the kop and he nearly scored with his chest too... Well done Williams

He showed up ronaldinho when we played Barca with his technical ability and vision. he's just a little jaded at the moment. He will become good again when he feels like it
