Manwell Pablo Posted 11 January 2007 Posted 11 January 2007 It breaks up the basic value adding atrributes of a business. Primary: like Sales, Logistics, Marketing Suppourt: like Admin, HR, R&D The cost and value of each one is worked out individually, it's used in Strategic planning, obviously it's suppouse to optomize Value and minimize cost. Enjoy.

Porter's Value Chain Not really, I think learning what the theory behind the diagram and why the diagram exists in the first place might be worth remembering as well! I take it it's degree level Nev?
bigneville Posted 11 January 2007 Author Posted 11 January 2007 Not really, I think learning why what the theory does and why the diagram exists in the first place might be worth remembering as well! I take it it's degree level Nev? Yeah mate... Final year... It's more about understanding its theory and applying to a case study for the exam...

What you have to write about how you would implement it into the business yourself, or you have to comment and show you understand it based on the companys implemention of the system, using examples etc.

I take it it's degree level Nev? what i mean is, given he's pushed for time, the diagram is a lot easier to remember than a load of dry theory. and you can use intuition and knowledge already gained to expand on it. that served me alright when i covered this sort of crap stuff

Others find it impossible.
